Brother Ulkesh's Achievements

  1. ... When you purchase Helsreach as an e-book, despite owning the dead tree version, just so you can read it on your phone wherever you are.
  2. Those Sternguard look great. I'm less fond of the others, but that's entirely down to the sculpts not your paint job.
  3. Have you tried shading the bone areas before highlighting them back up? I use Bleached Bone (old paint), followed by a wash of Agrax Earthshade, highlight with Bleached Bone & second highlight of White Scar. I'm no great shakes as a painter, but it gives an... acceptable... level of depth.
  4. Good grief! If I had an unpainted crusade that large I'd have absolutely no idea where to start... I envy your collection, brother, but not the work ahead...
  5. Lol, yeah, that was me. I did notice the support from The Angry Templar :) You need not improve on perfection, brother. That's probably why we're having to wait so long...
  6. ...When you suggest to Graham McNeil on Twitter that he should make us a new Codex "for old times sake"... And do not get a reply :(
  7. Hello. There's nothing special about the studded (mark 6) shoulderpad - it's just there to add a bit of variety to your models. The modern background says that most marines wear armour made up of different marks, which have been handed down from fallen brothers over the centuries. Which bit in the terminator set is confusing you? If it looks like a small lamp-post, it's a teleport homing device.
  8. ...When you tell the wife she can only have a dog if it's black & White and you can call him Grimaldus. She's still thinking about it...
  9. For me, the main motivation is fluff. I love it - the sacrifice of Sanguinus, the struggle to contain the rage (& thirst) - all of it. Upon my return to 40k, I had a plan, & the Blood Angels were not a part of it. I was going to make a small, fun army of Soul Drinkers then follow that with a small (again) Thousand Sons force & then do a "serious" vanilla codex (or DIY) chapter. Plans changed when I turned to the BA codex for ideas for my Soul Drinkers. Admittedly, there was only a small amount of fluff in the .pdf, but it started me off & now not only have the Angels made it onto the list, but I'm starting them before I've finished the Soul Drinkers (I needed a break from purple anyway...). I'll probably not get around to the vanilla marines now (BA will be my "serious" army), but I won't lose sleep over it. I'll most likely have a table-ready force by the time the new codex comes out - only to find half my guys will be illegal or trumped by some new uber-unit...
