I mean if the dude is done well and not primarch sized, then I’m all for it! I just feel that GW don’t do big models well anymore and I blame AoS (I also don’t like the system, admittedly). The sigmarines have had too much influence and are basically fantasy primaris at this point and aesthetically the same for me. Meaning, I’d prefer anything over a style similar to that. My worry would be that GW decides to give us the winged Sigmarine Yndrasta but basically as the Sanguinor, that would be too flashy for me already. SG would require a full re-write at this point. T5, 3 wounds and/or a 5+++ and S6/-2/2D and 2+ WS on melee weapons, and the boltguns getting both pistol and assault with 18” range would be a start. Then, you gotta combine the two rules they have now into one, remove the warlord restriction and add it back to the second special rule, whatever may that be - better morale, extra attacks, re-roll to wounds… at that point, they’re worth the points your paying unless you encounter-1D profiles. Which is why they wouldn’t be more expensive than 35 points per model after all. But that isn’t about the rumoured new models.

That’s actually a smart way to use them. if there’s enough “Xenos” kill teams!

Bloody Corvus Crow Feet was already taken, so gotta adapt -
I’m hopefully pessimistic about a new BA release, as in I am not looking forward to GW updating the BA line right now. Sanguinor as a big centrepiece model? It could only become worse from the one use the Sanguinor has now, interrupting charges. And why does everyone need a centrepiece model? I miss the days when fielding a marine army was about shooting and punching your enemies instead of flashy AoS-style models… DC focus? Right, looking forward to losing an entire detachment just for some lame and unfluffy “all DC all the time” kind of rules instead of exploring more interesting play styles for our faction. A SG refresh, while probably looking absolutely amazing, sounds like it could turn out like the DA robed guys with AP-1 swords. not that SG are wildly competitive right now. Based on the releases we’ve seen, I have little trust in GW in getting it “right”.

I, Snorri, vow to paint for the month of April 1 Land Raider Redeemer (working title Deliverance Encarmine) -
Not moving also makes them ignore cover which helps! yeah I think getting the bonus in the first round of every new combat is necessary. (just make it like it was in 9th, Gw, please - it wasn’t much but at least it worked!) Also, top it off with +1 to advance and charge, while you’re at it. Honestly, melee is so bad you could slap a lot of buffs into the same detachment and not be OP.
-
Or gotten the option for being taken in squads of 5… Devs are good though I think. The grav and MM bombs do work.
-
100% my thoughts, the +2S is okay, it’s nothing world-changing. A few break points for anti-infantry weapons change, and a few for anti-tank melee. The enhancements are still terrible and the strats are okay(well, 50% are). Not seeing any points changes to go along with this is definitely a bummer and SG will continue not being worth their points. I guess all we can do is hope for the best in a new supplement?

Just finished Lemartes. Dude’s been sitting on the shelf waiting for the final steps for so long…felt good granting him the last honours.

Vow complete. I present to you Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost: -
while yea, they do - it wouldn’t make sense in-game or in lore. Blood Angels fall to the Black Rage on the eve of battle, when chaplains have the Marines pray and focus on Sanguinius’ sacrifice. It’s done to weed out those who fall before they go rampant in battle and disrupt the battle formations or endanger their brothers. sooo…if a guy from an aggressor squad would succumb to the black rage, he’d not be given the extra armour plates and wargear that makes out Gravis armour, and likewise for any Phobos armour types. Back on topic. I don’t partake in the whole model release rumours…I just hope we’re being spared an AoS-style Sanguinor. It’s my opinion that GW can’t do larger-than-marine scale humanoid characters well. I’d go so far to say that I’d much rather prefer him being legends instead of a goofy, massive centerpiece model that makes our faction even more gimmicky than the one-shot wonder that DC squads used to be. I mean people can go play UM and DA if they want that kind of goofyness. From a rules perspective though: - I reckon SoS will stay largely unchanged. We’ll know if anything changes during the dataslate and can go from there, my guess is that GW thinks that SoS is the pinnacle of how BA should be played. - any footslogging characters should be able to join tacticus armoured infsntry units. Period. - possibly one detachment could focus on Deepstriking units such as terminators, JP marines and getting those into close combat after setting up. Could also double as a “speed” detachments, granting advance and charge/Boni to charges and advance rolls via strats and enhancements - another detachment could focus on transport vehicles and getting out and into close combat. We’ve seen this in the SM codex (I think it’s the salamanders one?) and BA also like to close the distance but then get stuck in. it is my expectation that GDF will stay better suited for BA play style competitively after seeing the DA codex.
-
Perfectly agree. I’d hate to see a full DC detachment since it doesn’t make sense (a full company of DC would mean the chapter’s basically gone) and it’s not like this is a cohesive force like Deathwing for example. And centering it around DC and DC dreads would feel boring? I guess it’s a way to get Forlorn Fury back into the game. best case: - updated SoS detachment (which becomes amazing after January dataslate, especially the strats and the enhancements) - a Deepstrike assault detachment. It would be worse than SoS in raw combat power but it could extend to any unit with Deepstrike, not just SG or jump packs I could’ve seen the Hammer of Baal as an enhancement in this detachment but for some reason they just removed thunder hammers from the terminator captain - a speed/motorized infantry detachment maybe. it would make sense since 10th is the renaissance of old play styles and BA used to be able to overcharge rhino-based tanks and charge out of them too after moving. could also buff the movement of JP troops while at it worst case: - SoS will continue its mediocre existence and do not get updated from the index (not that unlikely actually, looking at DA) - 2 detachments that seem to offer a different way to play BA but eventually won’t be used since Gladius will just continue being better - you don’t even end up using the Supplement since the codex detachments (well, just GTF really) will stay overall more fun and competitive I think it could be a mix of both cases. I hope for the best, but I see what DA got and it ain’t pretty.

Unit of the Week: Bladeguard Veteran Squad
SnorriSnorrison replied to Jolemai's topic in + BLOOD ANGELS +
That sounds a lot of fun in more casual games! I don’t have the company heroes (but my made-to-order champion has been finally sent after almost a year of waiting) but sounds like a good way to get stuff up the board if not playing in hyper-comp environments. also, the SR is just cool.- 13 replies

I’ve heard the SR could be useful, but I don’t really know how yet. It would be a lot better with assault ramp, that’s for sure- 13 replies
