I mean, this is the same GW that changed the The End and the Death from a 2 book to a 3 book series between when book 1 was sent to the printers and when it was released for sale, omitting things from the printed rulebook to push digital engagement and thus push Warhammer+ is fully on brand here.

I normally try to stay out of these debates these days, but as an "old hand" I feel like this applies to all sides and may draw me some flak. If we are genuinely resorting to telling people they are playing with their toy soldiers "wrong", then the spirit of what made this hobby all those decades ago is already dead.

Fun hiccup will likely have to sort out with support, all the Horus Heresy enhanced editions don't transfer ownership to the new app, because it only includes the normal editions.

At this point it's 100% clear the volume 2 micro chapters was Abnett being asked to pad page count to justify a 3rd volume. If you enjoy Abnett's style, Volume 3 is worth the investment. Enjoying reading it overall.

On the topic of bloat, most of us are likely familiar with the whole "sci-fi bloat" described earlier. But a lot of us have also been around to know the difference between bloat to add details ala Know No Fear, and "Corporate needs to you pad this out to 3 books to sell more Limited Editions to balance their spreadsheets" That being said, so far book 3 is reading much closer to form, it does seem like book 2 got the lion's share of padding out.

But in stock on Chapter's shelves, just picked one up today. This pre-order going to be remembered forba while for how poorly handled it was.
