223rd Achaston Royal Redemptors "The Warborn"

Thanks! I'm thinking gold plate, with Incubi Darkness base greatcoats. They're 100% from Anvil Industries. Specifically long greatcoat legs, cuirass torsos, a pickelhaub with shock mask heads. Laser rifle fatigue arms. -

O Heresy, Sweet Heresy: A Tale of the Age of Darkness
Larkyn replied to Larkyn's topic in + WORKS IN PROGRESS +
"I feel the wind tonight Cold Under pale moonlight Staring out through the soul of me Dreaming of false reality" The Champion started, roused from his reverie by an all-too-familiar sound; bolter fire. An echoing cry was taken up by the defenders of the bastion, "Third Legion!" The bastard-Children were assaulting. Again. The Champion unlimbered his axe, the eagle-headed weapon ready to taste the life-blood of the Traitors once more. Line captains and lieutenants barked orders, Legionaries of the Seventh prepared their defenses well. Bolters, heavy bolters, lascannons, wall-guns, and everything in between sighted down the traitor lines. The Champion knew his own captain would be doing much the same for his men. But he himself, he had no mission at this point. Not yet. Not until they gained a foothold. Not until they were within blade-reach. Then he would reap his bloody tally. Silently, he hoped they would breach the wall today, cursing himself for those thoughts. -

For jump packs, I've found these work really well with Mk3. http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Exo-Lords/Torsos-and-Power-Plants/Jetpack -

So, how's this work for everyone: Paint 250 points a month for the year of 2018. Each vow does not have to be the same faction as the month before (faction ADD), it only matters that you paint. Basic Vow: 250 points in a month. Commander Vow: Paint 500 points in a month. Warlord Vow: Paint 750 points in a month. Lord General: End the Tale with an army painted during this even totaling 1,000 points or more. If unit or model is over 250 points (land raider, repulsor, titan), either can vow Commander, or complete it over two months. This gives people enough freedom throughout the year to work on whatever they please, as we'll be looking at quite a few new codices throughout, and I know quite a few people suffer from Hobby ADD like me. -
The release of the Lion would be cool, and it wouldn't have to happen upon release of the codex, since the Death Guard are STILL waiting for that little plague buggy thing.

I'm thinking between 5 and 10. Keep it a small number, but enough people to keep up the motivation. A small enough number would allow us to keep up a PM chat, and the content thread. Although, I wouldn't be opposed to an even smaller number too, and turn it into a more narrative-driven project. I'm a huge fan of fluffy plogs, which is what I'm leaning towards in my Darkness Within thread, so if people would be interested in something like that too, I'm down. -

I've got lots of mini projects thanks to my newest Story Plog, so working on several forces next year will be good for me, so hopefully it gathers a lot of momentum. -

Hmmm...How about we just make it Quarter 1 just to start, from January 1 to March 31. We see how that goes, and if people have made progress, we can work out if we continue or not? Make it the 250 points a month, and plan to have 750 points by March 31? -

250 points a month, for the quarter, would see 750 points per quarter. 1,500 per half year, 3,000 points in the year. That could be something we go for. Either 4 small armies, 2 1,500 point armies, or one large army, or anything in between. This project would be flexible enough to accommodate people who don't want to spend a load of money, just simply a Start Collecting box, and a handful of other things; to those willing to go all out for a full 3,000 point force.
