  1. I really enjoyed it. Brooks' Ork stuff is really breezy and I think that's the exact tone he is going for. Even the Dark Eldar have a little absurdity with how everything goes. I was on the right wavelength for what this book was trying to do. I like that this depiction of orks can exist right alongside Beast Arises. Give me more Uftak books.
  2. Doesn't bother me. It was a mistake. It happens. Should it have been caught? For sure. Oh well. Just mentally change it to the Trisaigon. The Loken/Horus stuff doesn't bother me either. Almost every Primarch has a favored son. One who they hold just a bit higher than the rest. I don't mind that at all. For Horus it was Loken.
  3. It just means he was part of the project. Other scientists like Astarte and Sedayne are mentioned in like the next paragraphs.
  4. Got mine yesterday, already finished it. Amazing, as expected.
  5. So now I need to cancel the order where they took out Aurelian (without me noticing) and then charged me shipping for what was left in my basket. How do I cancel that order?
  6. So even though it was in my basket and I got to the payment page and I FINALLY got it to work it was removed from my basket and I didn't get it (silver edition). WHAT THE HELL?
  7. I'm still up in the air on whether I am buying this or not. On one hand I love darn near everything HH related. On the other, that is one expensive HH related product and I am but a lowly college student..... That aside I really dig the cover. Also, Mr. A D-B, I sent you a PM around 3-4 months ago and no reply :) your inbox must be more insane than I thought or I rubbed you the wrong way. If it's the latter, my apologies.
  8. Great, now every time I read about both duels between I will not be able to not think about the subtext........ Granted it's not there, but the idea is now in my head. Can't unsee!
  9. I'm gonna say this again: They test you for that stuff. The whole bit in the Salamander series with that main character is considered a gigantic anomaly AND that Salamander is considerably younger than either Garro or Loken when that happens. I refuse to believe unless it's flat out stated in a Horus Heresy book that either of them could be psykers. Also, the stuff with Garro has more to do with the Emperor as a divine presence than any psyker nonsense on Garro's part. Especially considering how big a role Keeler and the Lectitio Divinatus played in that book.
  10. Loken correctly predicted what would happen to him on Isstvan III pg 83 Horus Rising. This was a foretelling as i see it. "Then, briefly , he imagined another death. Alone, far away from his comrades and his Legion, dying from cruel wounds on some nameless rock, his passing as memorable as smoke" I think that was Loken waxing eloquent about the possibility of an ignominious death, not a psychic premonition. As stated above: Loken. Was. Not. A. Psyker. They test you for that stuff.
  11. I didn't get that from the book. I mean, yes the custodes are different, but by the end of the book it seemed like the 'flaw' Argel Tal saw didn't really exist. The custodes only lost because they were overwhelmed, their teamwork or lack thereof was not an issue at all. Maybe I'm wrong and I'll see it differently when I reread the book, but I thought Argel Tal was wrong about the flaw he perceived. On topic: I think Khârn would beat Lucius in a similar way to how Loken beat Lucius. All that finesses and skill would lose out to the sheer brutality Khârn could bring to a fight.
