All I've seen are wound allocation rules for close-combat, not shooting. Where is this from?

Lets see here: Dark Angels and Alpha Legion: Same reasons for both. I like their overall look. But their stories are too convoluted to keep track of. To the point that I just don't care... Salamanders: They never did much for me, but I didn't dislike them. Then they went from being dark skinned to literally black skinned with red eyes and just look goofy IMHO. White Scars: Again, nothing about this legion ever did much for me. I've not read their books in the HH series, so maybe that would change. I wouldn't say I dislike them, so much as completely forget about them. I used to dislike Thousand Sons (in 40k) as they were just bland to me. But years ago after A Thousand Sons came out, it really changed my opinion of them.

I'm here for the Perturbator. Mostly. I always envisioned Pound music as heavy aggrotech/industrial music. Think early Combichrist.

Vanguard detachment gives you 6 Elites slots. You could easily run 2x Vanguard which would give you 2 HQ minimum, 6 Elites minimum, and option to add beyond that. So you could field a Lord, a Sorcerer, 6 units of noise marines, 2 dreads, 2 units of terminators, etc. legally. Granted, you'd be +2CP vs. +3 for Battalion but it certainly isn't unplayable.

I'm going to break from the norm here. I like that they are returning to the concept of "not all World Eaters are berserkers, and not all berserkers are World Eaters". At least based on the Twitch stream comments.

I just decided to get into 30k and am working up some small army lists and trying to decide what is worth taking and what isn't. Trying to not break the FW bank and all that. Condense some of these 33 pages into what are the "Core: You Should Take This" and "Nope: Never Ever Take This" can you? Spartans? Full of Terminators? 20x Tactical Squads? Support squads armed with...? Etc.
