Nope... I own the forgeworld books, horus hereay books, digital short stories, and red tithe. The carcharodons are raven guard outcasts. They were too violent for the primarch and didn't fit his stealthy legion style, so he sent thme out with their own fleet to combat man's enemies. This is why they share the pale skin and likeness of raven guard (black eyes), are fleet based, wear repaired heresy era armor, wear classic old horus heresy raven guard colors (shades of gray), and are violent instead of sneaky. There is nothing that ties them to multiple Genesee or other legions, other than rumormongering.

They didn't have purple armor. They only looked that way on one cover of the early horus heresy books (which also had marines in mark 7 armor... fluff and art was still evolving and being created). They pretty much have iridescent armor, or blueish green iridescent armor. The metallic blue/green chameleon look is correct with the fluff.

Wow your black looks great. Is that just black with a edge highlight of blue and white? It doesn't look airbrushed to me. Painting black is my weakness, but man you make it look good.

The scout cloaks, the red lights on the bikes, and that yellow/orange glow on the plasma... :-O amazing!! Love the army, and love the 2nd edition style marines. I miss the era of 2nd - 3rd edition. Keep up the great work! You have a force worthy of killing your sons nidz for sure.

Heroics in HH? I thought 30k was very similar to 40k? Are the characters buffed? (I guess I never read into it much, all my heresy stuff became carcharodons after inspiration from machinepriest here on the forums).

Holy crap! He's back!!! What a great year, I am finally excited to play Dark Angels after many years with our new codex and Dan the Man in back! I followed your thread religiously back in my college days. Now I am old with a career, family, etc. I feel young again! Oh, and the minis are looking great as always!

Best Abandon I've seen in 15 years! Most use plastics with a couple of resin parts, you have used enough of the resin model to really keep the origional feel of abandon with an awesome and unique action pose. Kudos dude!

I have to say I am still a bit disappointed in black library... I was on their website at noon sharp and accidentelly put two copies in my basket. I am not a previous customer, so I had to enter my info during checkout. In the time it took to enter my info and take one book out of my basket (I am not selfish, just wanted one gold copy for myself), Aurelian was sold out and somehow out of my basket. That made me irate! I had a copy of aurelian in my basket (two to start with) and was checking out, entering my card info! Oh well I'll have to snipe one on ebay for a trillion times it's origional selling price. Talk about life not being fair... and I was so looking forward to reading this book, especially after just finishing The First Heretic.

Oh no.... you have inspired me beyond belief. I am an avid lover -er addict- of Pontiac Trans Ams (like my 1975 which is my other little hobby) and I have been looking to make a chapter to do the 'bird justice. I just haven't been able to figure out how to do the 'phoenix' or 'screaming chicken' justice and mix it with a good color scheme. Origionally I was thinking about a light metallic blue like the old pontiac 389 engine blocks, but this color scheme has knocked me senseless. Kinda reminds me of a faded bucaneer red lol... Time to can the dark angels, deathwing, bloodwing, grey knights, and daemons after 10 years. New chapter here I come!! Thanks much for the inspiration, and if you ever want to part with these bad boys... lol :P On a more serious note, these are airbrushed right? What colors/brand did you use? Techniques?
