  1. Hi-Tech minis actually has quite a few decent female Termie models: http://hitechminiatures.com/congregation-of-nuns/197-28mm-nun-victoria-blast.html http://hitechminiatures.com/congregation-of-nuns/231-28mm-commander-cassandra.html http://hitechminiatures.com/congregation-of-nuns/287-28mm-nun-captai-odetta.html
  2. I concur, ain't nothing wrong with Castlevania. After much hemming and hawing I've settled on House Galemourn. So Dosjetka, you are totally welcome to Wynngarde. :D A friend of mine actually gave me the further suggestion that the house's home world is in fact a moon orbiting a gas giant, and that the stormy period occurs whenever the moon touches the gas giant's turbulent upper atmosphere. This also explains the purpose of the House to begin with- ie to protect the Mechanicus' gas mining and mineral mining efforts on this moon. (BTW Terminus, thank you for the suggestion, Quell is an awesome name for the moon) Now I just need to work out a house sigil to eventually decal on. I'm trying to think of something that captures the "stormy" theme of the house without necessarily going nautical. So far I'm considering either an albatross or hawk set against a lightning bolt, a light house, or something involving a cog wheel. Any suggestions? Please bear in mind my untested freehand skills.
  3. So as the title suggests, I've been stumped lately on picking a good name for my Knight House. While I don't plan on collecting more than one Knight (which will be an ally for my Sororitas), I still want to pick a good name for the big guy's background. Some notes on the House background so far: -Hails from an industrial world that, either through environmental catastrophe, centuries of pollution, or some sort of weird orbit from its moon, is constantly wracked by violent storms. As a result, almost all of the major cities and forges are sturdily built and/or lightning-shielded -The House colours are regal blue and stormcloud grey. They might also have something storm-related as their House sigil, once I get around to devising it -In terms of temperament and culture, I see the House less as old knightly nobility, and more as the "new money" of the industrial era -The one Knight I have so far is probably going to be named Aldius or Laertes (or possibly Archebald) Anyway, a shortlist of names I've come up with: -Wynngarde -Hale -Merlon -Thane -Quell -Galemourn -Valt -Fremantle Which of these do you guys like best? I am also open to further suggestions.

  6. ORDER NAME: Order of the Blessed Damsel ORDER FOUNDING: Late M39 ORDER MASTER: Prioress Invigilata ORDER CONVENT: Cathedral of Deliverence, Nantus ORDER HISTORY: In middle M38, a warp-storm that had blanketed the Nantus sector lifted, revealing a cluster of human-inhabited worlds ready for conversion. Almost all of these worlds had backwards, feudal societies, and one of them, Nantus, was one of the first to recieve missionaries. A small commandery of Sisters of the Argent Shroud was sent to oversee and protect the missionaries on Nantus. However, when a virulent plague broke out that killed off almost all of the missionaries and hundreds of thousands of people, the Sisters were left on their own. The Sisters' leader, Germaine, took it upon herself to continue the missionaries' work, and, in the now-fabled Mass of Deliverence, miraculously healed several thousand plague victims through prayer. After this incident, the people of Nantus flocked to Germaine and her Sisters, revering them as saintly figures, and when the feudal lords of Nantus tried to have the Sisters killed, the entire planet's populace rose up in a revolution and overthrew their masters, openly embracing the Imperium. The Order of the Argent Shroud was so stunned by Nantus' overnight conversion that they sent more Sisters to Nantus, along with a sizeable contingent of Hospitallers to help fight the plague. Over the years to come, the plague was eventually defeated, and, more notably, the Sisters managed to fend off a vicious Dark Eldar raid on Nantus. Over time, more and more Sisters were transferred to Germaine's command, until the Prioress of the Argent Shroud finally decided that the Nantus Convent would be turned into an Order Minoris, at which point Germaine was promoted to Canoness Superior (despite the fact that the notoriously humble Germaine repeatedly refused the position). Seeing that the rest of the Nantus Sector still needed to be reclaimed, Germaine led her new Order in what is now known as the Crusade of Deliverence. The order moved from world to world, liberating the local populations from the tyranny of their rulers, the oppression of xenos, or from the blight of despair. Everywhere the Order went, they won great victories in the Emperor's name, and every world they left behind was a solid bastion of Imperial faith. Germaine was an inspirational figure whose selfess acts of bravery, her humble faith, and her compassion for even the lowliest of peasants won many hearts and minds across the sector. It was on Rosamunda that Germaine finally fell at the hands of foul Traitor Marines of the Word Bearers Legion. The Order was defending a large number of refugees whom the traitors wished to sacrifice to their foul gods. It is said that, in that final battle, countless Traitors fell to Germaine's blade, and that no bullet, sword or shell could lay her low. In the midst of the battle, the foul Dark Apostle summoned a Greater Daemon of the Warp that began to slaughter its way through the Sisters, but Germaine, shouting prayers to the Emperor, slew it with a single blow from her blade. Only after the battle, after she had personally slain the Dark Apostle, did she fall, but not a single Traitor remained alive on the battlefield. Upon the Crusade's completion, the Sisters took the name of the Order of the Blessed Damsel, naming themselves after a Nantine title for Germaine. Germaine, in turn, was posthumously declared a saint, and people across the sector now refer to her as Germaine the Deliverer. The Order now maintains its vigil over the Nantus sector, and are renowned for both their compassion and mercy towards the Emperor's subjects and their tireless defence of those among the Emperor's subjects who cannot defend themselves. ORDER COMBAT DOCTRINE: The Sisters of the Blessed Damsel prefer to employ mechanized tactics, due to the lack of roads on the worlds of the Nantus sector, and possibly due to their emulation of the knights of Nantus' prehistory. They are also unique in that they allow aspirants to accompany them under the battlefield, under the stern tutelage of Repentias (who, if they fail to attain death by a certain period, are nonetheless allowed to instruct aspirants on the battlefield.) ORDER HOMEWORLD: Nantus (though they have multiple convents and bases stationed throughout the Nantus Sector) ORDER HERALDRY: (in progress) ORDER COLOURS: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t227/LoNCman/sister.png ORDER STANDARD..
