  1. I think the difference between 40K scene and other GW games is that 40K has had the ITC, LVO, Best Coast Pairing, etc, which have been universally adopted by the 40K community before GW really got involved. It's now become part of how the game works as it's seen how a lot of customers want to play, plus members of the 40K studio team are active on the competitive scene. The other systems haven't really had this or only parts of it. Personally, I think you just play how you want to play. If you want to do competitive events, you will follow the rules for that and visa versa for narrative. The best and worst thing in my opinion has been the whole competitive aspect that has developed around GW games. I love playing competitively (even though I don't have the time or energy to really do it) but I've never been a fan of how fast the meta changes. It does however feel the current edition is kind of in a good place as we approach the end, which suggest GW knows which levers to pull. I'm looking forwards to the new edition and hoping to get games in soon.
  2. I'm impressed the box has leaked but no real leaks about how the game has changed for the new edition. I think they will show off a bit more than the box. I'm hoping they will do some mickey taking/trolling as well but I think it will be showing off what is in the box, releases along side and an overview of the changes to rules. I'm not expecting a road map as I think GW have been stung by them, but I think they will say a little bit about up coming things. I'm also half expecting a Dark Mechanicum tease but considering the set is about the Dropsite massacre, this is probably unlikely. I'll be watching later tonight as it's on during the bedtime routine for my son, so I've got to avoid looking at my phone or annoying my wife about it until later!
  3. This is what I think they are and they look cool. I like the idea of order tokens but I think the scale of the games for Heresy, it wouldn't work. I think order tokens work at smaller skirmish scale games or something like Legions Imperialis/Epic. I wonder how much more of the set they can "leak" before they should show it off. They've been doing something everyday now and is this something they can keep going with until end of the month?
  4. Maybe when the set is released separately, there will be an option for that?
  5. I have lots of conflicting thoughts about the leak. Firstly, I LOVE the set. I think it looks really good and ticks loads of boxes. Gives me lots of nice nostalgia with a modern twist (also 80s Shoulder pads!!!!!). My first introduction to GW was around the Rogue Trader time (but didn't start doing stuff until 2nd edition after Hero Quest) and this set ticks lots of boxes. Hopefully the new edition updates some of the things I want (bit of streamlining and less wordy stuff). Secondly, I'm a bit sad/disappointed as I was really enjoying the Horus Hearsay campaign. I thought it was a great bit of fun and I was looking forwards to checking the site and speculating about stuff. That's gone now and I'm a bit sad about it and bit sad on behalf of the people in GW who were running it and allowed to do it like this. I bet that was a fun project to do. Thirdly, I'm hoping there will be plenty of stock when it gets released. I just see there not being enough stock and scalpers making small fortunes, which makes me annoyed. But the models, the theme and set looks amazing. I really love it and very excited.
  6. Only until 22nd May which I imagine they will show everything off at the Dallas Preview. I think it's ace and I'm hoping for another "leaked" video. Hopefully something teasing a model kit but the person getting the pictures is being chased by a security guard
  7. I think it's fair for people to expect this. It's one of my pet peeves with GW that you will spend a small fortune on books only for them to be invalidated after a few years due to a new edition. This is only an issue if you want to play the latest edition which is usually what people do. I'm just hoping the following: Rules waffle is cut down. No paragraphs explaining something when a sentence will do Rules to play games from day 1 for everybody. Basic PDF army lists would be fine I'm okay with streamlining as I've played loads of editions and it gets muddled up in my head. I get why some people don't like it but there's a difference between streamlining and removing customisation which is what I think most people get annoyed about.
  8. I think it's because of the concern about things changing about how your very expensive models will work and all those expensive books you've brought are no longer in use. Yeah I would think it would be something like this. Partially because it looks right, but also because it's a good start for the financial year for GW!
  9. Seems like it and I think it's the right thing for them to do. Great way to create a buzz around the product before showcasing to the world. I think they won't publicly say anything until 22nd. But between now and then, I'm expecting more updates on the Hearsay site and I'm hoping for the return of the potato camera.
  10. Yup. Yeah they are jokes but I imagine the Hazard Stripe paint is hinting Iron Warriors like the rumours have been suggesting and Dropper bottles is something that has been going around for years (Heresy range of paints?).
  11. Video is interesting with the post it notes. Hazard strip paint Droppers Jokaero Codex 24th June meeting Liber Hereticus Also I love the video! Such a great joke and this is what GW should get back to doing more of!
  12. I think if they show it off at the Dallas preview, we will see it in July. GW have usually released a summer game for as long as I can remember (30 plus years!), but I can see things being delayed with all the recent tariff stuff going on. I couldn't believe it when it dropped. It was like "Wow, this looks cool" and then just had to wait for rules for stuff. I'm really hoping we get to see some pdfs but then they may just take the approach that the target audience will just buy whatever books they need on release. They just need to be there on release.
  13. No Heresy Thursday, so looking more like we won't hear anything until the Dallas preview. I'm just hoping there are Day 1 lists for people to use, the rules don't waffle.
  14. This is what I would like. I would also like a bit of streamlining but more so around wordy paragraphs to explain a rule.
  15. With the next preview on 22nd May, I think this is what is happening. I don't think we will see anything Heresy related now until then (maybe a teaser). I've also checked and the 22nd is a Thursday, so maybe this is what will happen!
