Heresy Era Dark Angels

Master Toddius thank you.

Dominus Ex Machina thanks, i'm not sure about the points limit. I have a terminator squad built that I will be painting next. I still need to build another tactical squad or two. I also have all the parts ready to build an assault squad with my

pre heresy style turbo fan jump packs. I have a Rhino, Predator, and a Land Raider planned. I don't know exactly how many points it will total up to. I tend to build what appeals to me at the moment and then worry about the point value later.

SeerBrun thanks, I had thought about using the older bolters or converting the newer ones, but I just don't really like the look of 'em with the magazine so far forward just personal preference I guess.

those pre-heresy dark angels are looking very very good. i like the way you are doing your highlights on the black armour. with regards to rogue trader, do you remember the rank insignia that used to be applied to marines for trooper, sergeant, lietenant, captain ect on the forearm and the shoulder pad. would you consider doing that on your marines as i think it would look great. all in all wonderful work there and i look forward to seeing more of your figures painted. oh and are you using vallejo paints and inks in addition to GW colour? and are you using vallejo game colour or model colour? also are vellajo better than GW colour in general or just for specific techniques?

thanks

kanan Thank you. I use Vallejo model and game color as well as GW's paints. I don't think one is better than the other some of the colors from one will cover better than the other, but most of it is just personal preference they both work well.

As for the Rogue Trader insignia I don't know what they all looked like. If you have a site with reference pics I would love to see it.

wow nice work with your terminators. i really like how you made them unique with the special shoulder pads and romanesque detailing and i like how they are unadorned. youve done really well to come up with a very special looking squad. with regards to the rank insignia ill have a look through my old white dwarfs issues 95 96 97 98 99 & 101 as i remember seeing them on marines back then. if i can ill scan the relevant pages and post them up on your thread. oh and can you tell me if you can intermix vallejo colour and GW colour smoothly?

thanks mate

Those are fairly close Pre-H termies... Except personalized and totally rockin. :)

You are just crankin them out. The use of bits and plasticard is really well executed, again. Your army is going to be done in no time. Great tenacity.

I'm interested to see some vehicles now! :ermm:

Those shoulder pads were standard Terminator ones until after the heresy.

Either way, very nice work.

Thanks to one and all for the positive feedback.

Master Toddius i've recently just built a Rhino and Predator. They are ready for paint, but then I got a little side tracked working on an assault squad.

Master of the Dark Scyths I've had alot of people ask for a tutorial on the shoulder pads, I guess I need to get off my ass and make one.
