Night lords legion troops and chaos marks

Recommended Posts

Okay guys heres my two ideas for my night lords army.

Idea A) Night lords with marks:

Counts as a nightlord squad enslaving a lesser daeon enity or forging a pact for self gain only or counting marks as veteran squads.

Idea :tu: Beserkers in a night lords army

Counts as Highly trained killing machines/ veteran troops/ special cc squad with the most psychotic troops/

I was wondering if you accept this in a slightly competetive tournament setting.

Here is what you do.... You pain the mark on the base of the model (preferably the front) so the model is indeed 'marked'.. The base counts as part of the model. With that in mind, make the model whatever you want it to look like so long as it has the proper wargear and you tell your opponent ahead of time what it is.

okay well not night lords and Icon of Tzeentch, I haven't figured that one out yet! :thanks:

as the_unforgiven says: daemonic pact ~ the NL despise worship, but daemonic pacts can simply be mutually beneficial transactions without even a hint of religion being involved, or failing that: rare man-portable Xenos or Dark Age of Technology forcefield generators

Mark of Khorne/Khorne Berzerkers can be explained as marines on combat drugs.

Mark of Slaanesh.. just good troops I suppose, but infact I find it hard to believe that there arent vast numbers of Night Lords out there who havent slipped into Khorne or Slaanesh 'worship*' given that the legion is noted for being raving psychopaths

* in the sense of entering berzerk rages/enjoying the fear of others rather than actually praying

Mark of Nurgle ~ I'm sure theres bound to be a fair few Night Lords out there who fell to Nurgle the same way the Death Guard did

Why would you paint a mark on the base of a model ?

Besides most peoples bases are covered with "grass/dirt/gravel" anyway

Just model up your squad(s) of NL's with chainswords, bp's, LC's whatever to make them look all CC fierce and let your opponent know what they are/"count as".

Actually Vodunius/Maladon I (being a Tz fan) coulde see Tz using NL for what ever purpose in one of his (it's) schemes. I could see Tz finding NL's fast attacks and surprize raids "usefull" as a part of whatever larger scheme he is implamenting at the time. It would (IMO) definately be a case of Tz USING the NL's, whether they realized it or not, in one of his complaited plans that no mortal (or chaos lord) could comprehend (I'm sure the great manipulator would have the NL's convienced they were getting a great deal :thanks: ). So I wouldn't have a problem (fluffwize) with some Tz in a NL's army if there was some theme like that behind it. IMO that sound better then the Tz guys are hired merc's or they decided to work together for mutual benefit kinda story. And definately better the some of the NL's decided to worship Tz.

Counts as for Nightlords:

MoK = Combat drugs, Veteran skills.

MoS = Agile, again - drugs, 3rd edition 'Raptor' armor modifications, terror tactics and markings (causing the enemy to hesitate).

MoN = The very first Night Lords, veterans of the Long War, champions of the Bitter Crusade, they simply refuse to die!

MoT = Daemonic possession (i.e. for the bodyguard of a Daemon Prince)

Anything can be explained away now, go nuts.
