The Bolter & Chainsword allows members to upload board related pictures to its server so other board users can see them. The Gallery controls allow you to add, delete and manage your gallery and albums. Please note the Gallery is a privilege not a right and is subject to rule 4A of the B&C
4.A GALLERY: In order to facilitate the documentation of your power-armored army, the B&C offers the ability to host pictures of your power armor figures in a personal gallery.
You may only have one gallery. The size of your gallery will be limited (watch this space for more info), so keep that in mid when you are resizing your pictures.
Remember that your gallery postings must follow the rules of the B&C just as your normal posts do. Deviation may be cause for warnings or possible banning.
User Galleries are first started by choosing Your Albums from your user control panel. Here you will be prompted to create your first Album. This will go in the Gallery of "Members Galleries". At times other Galleries may be created in which you can put a personal album as well.
You will begin by naming and describing your gallery for other users who may be viewing it at a later time:
In addition you must choose if your gallery is public or private and how you will sort the gallery.
The gallery can be sorted in several ways:
- Upload Date
Once you've created your gallery you can choose the My Gallery link at the top of the forum or the Your Album link within your User Control Panel.
You will want to choose EDIT MY ALBUMS once you have done so:
Once doing so you will have several options on how to proceed with your gallery or other users galleries:
For your own gallery you can:
- Add new image
- Bulk Uploade images
- Create a new Album
In addition you can use the various options via the User Control Panel by selecting My Albums:
Once you've created an album you can manage it. Using the Select an Operation drop down menu you can choose from 4 options:
Albums work like forums in that you can have albums within an album
For your own gallery and others you can choose to:
- Subscribe -- notifying you when new images are added to the album
- Slide show -- view the images of the gallery in a slide show
Now you need to upload images. Selecting New Image will bring up the following screen:
Here you can name the image, create a caption for the image, add any copyright info you'd like to include, the path to upload the image from and if you want to be notified if any comments are made.
Once you have loaded your album you will have an album index that looks like this:
Selecting an image will take you a screen similar to this:
Here you will see the image and any caption for the image. You can also see when the image was uploaded, who uploaded it, the size of the image, the # of views and the # of comments. You will also be given several options on what to do with the image.
Here you can see the:
- HTML URL
- BBCODE URL
- Image Link
- Page Link
You can also set the image as your Avatar by clicking the Avatar button.
Clicking the Options button gives you various choices depending on whether the album is yours or anothers:
- Report -- which works just like reporting a post or topic
In addition you can:
- Mark the image as a favorite
Finally you can also scroll through the albums images by using the NEXT and PREVIOUS arrows at the top and bottom of the page.
