He had a pretty cool backpack: http://www.muschamp.ca/OffSite/WIPModels/CSM/oldAutocanon.jpg One of three havocs built using Imperial Guard Autocanons, this one also used probably a 3rd Edition era plastic loyalist missile launcher which was canabalized to do the shoulder mount. I also used the flat hand though originally I was going to use some pointing arm I couldn't find... Settled on this while searching for bits. http://www.muschamp.ca/OffSite/WIPModels/CSM/loyalistAutocanon.jpg Next the one everyone likes best, which I actually built last, is the one using the Hero Bike Base from Dragon Forge plus the legs of an Assault Marine. The hands come from either a loyalist, but I think a Chaos vehicle upgrade sprue. But the rules of the B&C have changed and my work on Servants of Decay the rebel guard list from IA 7 is now post-able. Of course now there are cultists in the regular list, even plague zombies with a special character. I still am going to do a small force of Servants of Decay which can also due double duty or triple duty as cultists or regular IG. Muskie Posted July 12, 2014 Author Share Posted July 12, 2014 After a three year break from the hobby I got talked into actually buying and painting a model. My back still is a problem and once again I need to find a new job, but I'll probably paint another model or two before another three years pass. It isn't 100% finished and no I don't know what paints I used. I do know I used a very well-used brush that couldn't really keep a point so it doesn't look like my usual work because I used strange paints and a brush that had seen better days, but it is a poor craftsman who blames his tools. Darth Mustard Posted July 12, 2014 Share Posted July 12, 2014 welcome back Great blog you got here I totally relate to your experience coming back after a 10 years break, getting old too (I swear 28 mm looked bigger before :) ), discovering new paints or models, coming from the age of metal and discovering new plastic kits, regretting some more complex kits, fearing resin, discovering new painters blogs and the few survivors of my time, same approach about collecting ...:) I´m sorry for your back. I have no back pain but I´m always procrastinating so thank you for posting here. It´s a great reminder and motivates me to go back and dare to paint again. Thanks again and please try to post more often. B&C hosts a great community.
