Now that Forge World's gonna produce Heresy figures, I just got to finish this army before it's completely obsolete and/or inadequate!  Since the Grey knights came out i've been "upgrading" the army,modified some heads,arms,weapons and détails here and there. Kaleb Daark Posted August 18, 2012 Author Share Posted August 18, 2012 Hi Fire how have you been man?  Wolf; they will be but not now; they're not on the army list I need to get painted for December.  Now, the curved blades from the tomb kings were too "Thousand Sons" looking, and it was about time I made this change of blade I've been thinking of since the Grey Knights came out   http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h113/kalebdaark/Custodes/DSCN1057.jpg  These were made with GK marine halberd blades and aquilla wings from the bits that come with the IG véhicules. So of course you can!    The gold on these models looks absolutely stunning. Any chance of the recipe? I'd love to be able to replicat it on my sanguinary guard!   You want you get; problem now is that I only use the previous citadel range and I don't have any idea of the new paints you could use instead (don't know them, haven't used 'em).... And I won't find out anytime soon since I made my reserves... :huh::Ptongue.gif  Anyway, here it is: _On a black under coat, First apply a mix of Dark Flesh and Shining Gold ( about 50/50) You should get a proper copper look.  _Then use Devlan Mud, don't be affraid to be "generous". This would tone down the red look of the first coat.  _Then use Shining Gold. Personnaly I try to respect zenithal lighting ( light source from above) so you still can spot shadowed places I left with the 2 first coats. Too much shining gold will ruin the job though IMHO.  _ THIS ONE IS OPTIONNAL; I only use it so I can get the gold more "yellowish", I use Prince August gold paint ref 999. This paint is kinda old and I think it might be OOP....  _ And Finally; apply a mix of Shining Gold and Mithril Silver (about 40/60%). You gotta be careful you still have some gold look left in the mix otherwise if it's too silver it would look kinda weird (IMHO).  Not sure I explained myself good (french remember) so if it's not clear enough don't hesitate to ask for more explanations  JuJu Kaleb Daark Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
