plaguereaper Posted June 5, 2008 Share Posted June 5, 2008 So, awhile back, I wanted to make a pre-heresy terminator, just like as a diorama. I kinda rushed it, making a world eater with a chain glaive, and a combi plasma/bolter. it didnt really turn out. So, im back for another go at it. my plan now is to make a 5 man squad of close combat termies. not sure what legion yet, maybe ill do some more world eaters, becuase i love how brutal they are. but the main thing i need to focus on this time is to take my time. my plans are to make these guys much bigger than normal, almost a true scale. im gonna give 2 guys thunder hammers and big sheilds, a sgt. a sword and sheild, another guy a mace and ?book?, and a standard bearer a huge honkin axe. im gonna be ordering the bits from bitskingdom, or hopefully i get them for my birthday in a couple days (yay finaly gonna be 18!) but since i have nothing to do right now (by nothing to do i meen i have way too much to do, but im to lazy to do it now) ive started making the hammers and sheilds. right now i have one hammer and sheild done, the sheild is about twice the size of the normal one, and the hammer is as tall as a normal marine B) any tips or suggestions for making these dudes? plaguereaper Posted July 9, 2008 Author Share Posted July 9, 2008 Now, after a long wait, i finaly have purchased the bits to make these dudes. and so far, i have one done, hes the sgt. he has a power sword and sheild.... but still no pic. i found my camera (which is usually the problem) and i have the camera cord, but its the wrong cord, i hope i can find the right one, and put some pics up tonight. (fyi, i am gonna use the larger sheild that comes with the termies for the sgt, since it will be a little smaller than the ones i made) oh, and some help please, im finaly begining to learn how to use inks and the sort, but i need some help. what inks should i buy to make these guys look rough and dirty? i dont want some clean looking termies, they are world eaters anyway. Also, these guys are still gonna be world eaters, but heresy-era, instead of preheresy, not much change, but ill add a khorne symbol here and there too. almost forgot, i have a 5 man squad of heresy era marines that im going to add to these, hopefully make a heresy-era army someday. pics of those on the way. Any way looks great I paint white using this technique; spray white if not white enough consider giving it another light coat, I start inside out with a grey inkwash in recesses then highlight the edges the lightest grey you can find. Paint the main part of the body in with denrab stone foundation paint or something like that anyway forgot the name. Go over this with skull white. Any mistakes repeat with the process before . easy can be messy but with pratice works great. You could if you wanted to mix in a blue in with the grey ink this gives a nice effect as well. I might somehow get a Jump pack on that It's TDA, how the hell should that go in line with a JP ? and use them as sanuguinus guard. I can never see them unless I look really closely...msut be some special talen. :D And yeah, your squad looks good.
