Terminators in army

Recommended Posts

me and a friend of mine are starting 1000 point armies, i would like to put a small squad of terminators in my army that have long range weapons, is it worth it of would it just eat up a good chunk of my list?

i was thinking about replacing them with a squad of death guard and a couple obliterators

I use 2x3 - sometimes 2x4 Terminators with combi's and a Chainfist, as suicide DS units.

They wreak havoc (pun intended) everywhere they go.

They're quite cheap for what they can (often) do. :D

I'd say go with the Terminators; In Apocalypse-sized games I tend to field three units of Tzeentch Termies, and the enemy has a "fun" time trying to kill them before they gut his forces.

What's the theme of your force of Chaos marines?

I find Terminators are essential to a Chaos army. I use at least 1 squad of 7, at times 2 squads of 7. They can come in pretty much anywhere, they have the best armor saves, and can take all the good stuff. I highly recommend!

I'm with chillin on this one. I never take Terminators under 1500 points. I guess I'm old school, but under 1500 points I'd rather spend the points on the "core" of my army.... troops and heavy support. I take them in my 1500 point list and even add a Land Raider at 2000 points.

Now, this is just my experience. If you want them in your 1000 point army, go ahead and get them. Have fun and let us know how you do...

I actually completely avoid Heavy in 1000 point games, Terminators fill that role well, especially with combi-bolters and a reaper autocannon.

I agree - would go this route like DuskRaider - but remember if you use the same 1000 pt army list all the time, your foes will figure out a way to beat it -
