I have also done a tankard for him but am not fully happy with it so will do a new one (you'll see it on him once painted)

I will be adding a Rogue Trader period Space Wolf transfer to the belt once he is painted (managed to find some on Ebay!)

Final bit that I wanted to say is that I am dedicating this model to my wonderful girlfriend who has put up with me spending hours either creating Russ, surfing the net for ideas, reading source books and generally neglecting her - thanks babe! (it is nearly over - but then again I have a whole Space Wolf army to make and paint yet ;) )

For his braids it would detail him a lot more if you put downward lines in the individual strands to make them look more like hair.

actually, those are from the shoulder pads from ronin's version of Russ. and those are actually what they should look like if u look at more of the Russ art work. not the one in which hes holding a chainsword

Excellent sculpting and inspired use of bitz - a top-notch job. Well done. With him at the helm the Space Pups cant lose! (unless they fail the drink-and-travel-faster-than-light test. In which case theyll be stranded in the warp. Again.)
And for scale, look no further than the bolter in his hand. He holds like a childs Laspistol. That thing needs two hands to be held by an Astartes! Dats HUGE! :D

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments.

I have based my Russ on images drawn by John Blanche in the 'Visions of Heresy' book. In the drawing that I primarily based by Russ on John Blanche has made a note that Russ carries the broken arrow (in a reliquary) taken from the body of one of his wolf kin who were killed by Hunters of the Russ tribe on Fenris when Leman Russ was first found and caught.

or 2. a Fancier shmancier bolter... The one he has screams normal.

Other than that i'd say it's fantabulous.
