1st unit ith Rhino (1x) ea, smokes

1x- Plasmagun, powerfist, powerweapon, 2x truegritt

-EA, smokes

Whirlwind

His list: (don't know what everything was called)

Hive tyrant:

-12 shot thing with many re-rolls, improved save

Broodlord with retinue of 10 stealers

-lots of rending crap and the lord had powered stuff

2x 3 warriors, one with range other one for cc

3x10 hormagaunts (i think)

-without number

Another troops unit.

2x Carnifex:

-Template weapon and 2 high S shot things.

2x Zoanthropes:

-1x warpblast, 1x catalyst.

1st turn:

Wel he got first turn, and went right one trying to get rid of the plasmacanon in my Lonfgang unit, he failed in that but got rid of my 3 Missile launchers instead. None the less my Longfangs stayed put. He only moved somewhat off course.

Rhino moved forward and dropped the greyhunters with Battleleader. Did some shootin.

My Whirlwind blast almost one entire unit of critters away (i'am begining to love this thing). The Longfangs inflicted the 1st wound on the Hive tyrant, My vindicator missed his target (12" scatter into nothing ness even with the modifier). My landspeeder took a shot at a warrior unit inflicting a wound.

2nd turn:

Came alot closer to me ,His Broodlord arrived near my Landspeeder. His shooting phase was terrible for him, his only hit was a scatter from my longfangs upon my Whirlwind wich became shaken. H also tried some shots at the Vindicator but failed to get rid of it. He charged my Wolfguard battleleader and a unit greyhunters were charged 9made ld test for more attacks) and my leader wiped out that unit almost on his own (6 out of 7 hits all wounded)

My scouts came on the field and took a shot at the carnifex causing the 1st wound on it. My Vindicator did the same but he scattered again. This time on a unit of warriors, He said they were instant killed (i wasn't sure about that so i let him), Bloodclaws went in for the charge at a unit (without stormcaller cause it had failed) and together withe the Runepriest they managed to get rid of another nid unit.

3rd turn:

He made some strange mistakes like targetting a my Bloodclaws way on the other sied (he missed) His Hive tyrant had unlucky shooting against my Bloodclaws, only killing 2. His charging was better as he got rid of my Landspeeder, 9 greyhunters and 2 bloodclaws, but my side didn't go out without fighting killing of 2 cc warriors, and my Runpriest managed to kill the Hive tyrant on his own. 1 scout was killed by an enemy unit (came with endless swarm) but they won combat and even managed to whipe out the entire unit (not in synaps range)

My scouts closed in on the Carnifex in an attempt to prevent it from shooting. They inflicted 2 wounds on him (1 with shooting with boltpistol and 1 in cc) Whirlwind got rid of another unit but my Vindicator didn't do anything. I took postion on 2 objectives wich i managed to keep in my posession for the rest of the game. My Battleleader was Knocked out by a cc warrior. Leaving the powerfist greyhunter alone. He didn't last long against the nids who had charged him previously, but they were killed shortly after when another greyhunter unit got rid of them in return.

4th turn:

His remaining cc warrior moved towards my remaining greyhunters, and so did his broodlord who had lost many of his retinue due to an exploding landspeeder, he failed to get in charge range though. His shooting was quite nice though he managed to get rid of the Vindicator shooting power, but his large blast scatterd unto the Carnifex wich was locked in cc with the scouts (he missed the scouts) The carnifexx got another wound. the usually swarm arrived again. 1 of them took controll of a 3rd objective. His carnifex took the last scouts down in cc. he got rid of my packleader but my plasmacannon stood stead fast (oyeah). His last cc warrior was killed by my Greyhunters wich took postion on an objective afterwards. (this would be a hard fought objective later on). Side not his warrior had taken up position close by his wounded fex.

My Whirlwind took a shot at a large unit troops and killed 6 of them. My last Longfang took a shot at his warrior but scatter 1" between the Fex and the warrior killing both. Greyhunters took a shot at the wounded nids and killed 1 more of them. nothing much happened.

5th, 6th, 7th turn: (not much happened here so i combine the 3 turns)

He got rid of my 3 greyhunters with is broodlord and ret. and thought he had an objective (which he hadn't as the unit was an Hq) His Carnifex shot at my greyhunters but failed to remove them from ttheir objective for 3 turns. Likewise he failed to get a Charge.

My Whirlwind proved its worth by keeping the Hordes in check. Did some shooting but nothing worth mentioning.

Well that was it i had won with 2 to 1 objective (1st time that i won against Nids with my wolves, i'am beggining to like 5th ed), Now i need some ale i think i deserve it after this hard battle.

well fought, good to hear there are better ways to counter nids now (the counter attack realy helps to get the attack on the same level)

No beer for the nids in this game :D

Just two quick pointers:

Synapse creatures cant be instant killed, so the warriors would not have been insta killed.

Endless swarm creatures dont count as scoring units after they die the first time as far as I know. I know they are troops choices, but i think it says in the rule of the ability that after they come back on the board, they no longer count as scoring units.

Other than that, nice victory! those swarm armies can definately be a pain.

Endless swarms CAN score if they come back....however, hormagaunts cannot get endless swarm. Termagants can (the shooty ones) but they have to be kept cheep.

My Nid knowledge is not that great as you can see. Don't care much about the bugs either, as long as i can blast them from the table i'am more than satisfied.
