I believe this will apply to Space Wolves for wargear, but no vehicles/units that our book says to take from CSM.
No 3+ storm shields then.

Why not? Do we have the description how a SS works in our ´dex? If not we use the C:SM as a reference.
Does this have any basis other than as a random thought?
From tournament sources I have already been told to use the Codex: Space Marines entries for weapons that have been updated/changed (The Assault Cannon being a main one), so I plan on using the new Storm Shields as well.
Yakface has an extensive report from LAGD.

No. I wont be happy.
I wont be buying the new Space Marine codex.
I refuse to use another list to make a Wolf 'themed' army.
Mock me or disagree with me or do what you like... I love 40K, I also play Fantasy and LoTR.
I am done with all of them.
Done.
Not one more penny.
I think you will be happy with the new SM Codex in October.
YOu will be able to make a SW oriented list using that barring some characteristic features.
Asault Squads without Jump Packs now can have Rhinos.

Codex in 2 months and we don't know about it? As much as I'd love for that to happen I don't see it coming.
In regards to the wargear question, will it specifically state in the upcoming C:SM that only vanilla marines get the 3+ save for the Storm Shield because it says in our codex to refer to the wargear section of C:SM for item rules and descriptions. Which to me means that I look at that codex for the rules on the weapons I use.
From what I gathered from reading the post on Dakka is that Kelly said they won't update the other codexes with FAQ's after the release of C:SM which really shouldn't impact us since our dex refers to C:SM. We're actually lucky in a way to have a 3rd edition dex which relies heavily on C:SM instead of the Templars and Dark Angels which are stand alone books.
The rumor going around is that Phil Kelly from the dev team is saying that none of the non-codex xhapters will get the new wargear changes, in order to make the vanilla marines 'special'.
In other words, in addition to forgetting about the wolves... Games Workshop is just going on and kicking us in the balls and spitting on us.

Ok, screw Phil Kelly. I have been doing some looking.
Space Wolves Codex, 2000 edition (the latest printing I know of of our 3rd ed codex), Page 14.
and I quote... (accent added by myself)
"IMPORTANT: Space Wolves may NOT pick from the Armoury in Codex: Space Marines and must take all of thier equipment from the list below. A number of entries are basically the same as thier counterpart in the standard Space Marines Armoury and, in that case, we've noted this by writing thier entries in italics below. There is a brief description of how these items work on the summary page later in this codex but you should refer to the Wargear section in Codex: Space Marines for a full description."
So screw any idea of my not using every single bonus that I can out of that book.
Hell, I might just go out and get myself 2 or 3 more squads of terminators with Lightning Claws and Storm Shields... just because those damned smurfs can't do that, and they can stuff thier Storm Shields up thier arses.
