Furioso dreds for all, now thats not right, they should have been kept for the BA only. Not that they were used much anyway.

GW appears to have opened the flood gates to pick and choose what you want. I think it is a way to customise an army specific to chapters not yet getting a codex for a while.

Now, if Ball Predators were available to everyone.......there I would cry cheese on behalf of the BA's.

Mind you, Razor Backs will now have twin linked assault canons and dreds can now have twin linked auto canons (Mortis) on each arm. This I like. Just one will be fine.

From my understanding, unless it was changed in the 5th edition faq (which it wasn't) or unless it gets changed in the faq for the new c:sm then we still have to use the limits that are listed in our codex until it gets updated

I have just re-read the appropriate material and this is what I saw

Codex:Space Wolves - no mention as the model hadn't been released then

FAQ v4.1 - Space Wolf armies may use 0-1 Land Raider Crusader as a Heavy Support choice - use Codex Space Marines for details. So a definate 0-1 choice

Current erratta - Space Wolf vehicles - use the points costs and rules (all vehicle types and variants) from codex space marines

There maybe others who can interperate this better than me but we were limited to 1 and there has been nothing mentioned since to change this.

I suppose if you look at the wording 'points costs and rules' then you might say we could take more, but my feeling is our 0-1 limit still apllies

There is no limit on the number of LRC available to Space Wolves.

From the current FAQ: Space Wolves vehicles: Use the point costs and rules from Codex: Space Marines for Dreadnoughts, Land Speeders, Attack Bikes, Whirlwinds, Predators, Land Raiders and Vindicators. All of the different variants and options available to these units in a Space Marine army are also available to the Space Wolves. The exception to this is the Venerable Dreadnoughts, which must be chosen from the Space Wolves army list (as detailed on page 7), and not the Space Marines army list.

Does this mean that we can't upgrade a Space Marine Dreadnought to venerable for the veteran abilities, or just foresight that Space Marines will have a separate entry for Venerable Dreads?

Man. I know a Blood Angels player, a Dark Angels player, and a Black Templar player, all of which call shenanigans on Space wolves for almost anything now. If they don't get a FAQ saying they get the new stuff too...I am buying me that Redeemer, and then THEY shall know fear.

As for the LRC limit lift, I'd imagine GW doesn't want Wolf players with one Crusader to be put off from buying the new plastic Crusader/Redeemer kit.

As for explaining all these new awesome toys, I'm sure it's somewhere in the fluff that Calgar lost a bet to the Great Wolf... *raises a frothy mug*

hey denkal, i take crap from all three alt SM armies also...i tell them this:

what is litanies of hate?

what is rites of battle?

what are combat squads?

what are combat shields and adamantine mantles?

i dont get any of these things.

how come your entire army can purchase preferred enemy for 50 points? (Black Templars)

how come you get a souped up rhino? (blood angels)

how many terminator squads deep strike on turn 2? (dark angels)

i really hate catching crap from players with newer books, some sicker rules, yet have fang envy.

Amen, brother. I also tack on the "What are points?" argument, considering long fangs cost about as much as a 10-man Devastator squad, similarly geared, with more ablative wounds. Granted, I'd rather be covered by Long Fangs any day, and the way I play, they are HARDLY high on my enemy's priorities.

That should be more so in 5th, now that I can add a second Crusader in larger games.

Personally, I'm glad 5th edition cuts back the usefulness of some of the Space Wolves special rules. Outflanking provides a workaround to the Chooser of the Slain, and the way turn choices are, Space Wolves still have the advantage to get first, but the opponent has the same chances to seize the initiative. Cuts back on some of their cries of beardy cheese, without making the Sons of Russ any less formidable.

EDIT: Oh, and ask what Teleporting is.

well after looking at new squad there is assault cannon rback for everyone. redeemer for absolutely everyone and also one other good idea is that there isnow the option to make your own chapter master/special character. basically you can then base his points on a standing sc and set off from there. let me begin by saying there is a chaplain cassius with toughness 6, no instant death for him, and salamanders chapter master/captain dont know which with a 3+invulnerable save. personally i'm going to base my space wolf wolf priest on cassius and wolf lord on one of the awesome new chapter masters. also instead of a leman russ exterminator i would love to get my hands on a redeemer! strength 6 ap 3. not much will stand to that sorta stuff. also plus assault cannons and multi melta, take your pick. the redeemer and crusader i hear from new wd are in plastic set together for like conversion and customizable choice? space marines truly are super!

I don't know why I didn't read this until now ( maybe the topic didn't interest me since Crimson Devil answered the question being asked and I moved on) but you DO know that you can't have the special characters like cassius and vulkan (the 3+ invulnerable guy you were mentioning). This comes from the front of our SW codex that we use our SW codex for all our units unless it says refer to SM codex or whatever. The arguement about using other's HQ's for SW's have also already been addressed.

Besides, why would you want to take anyone but shrike or khan for a SW army if you could... ouflanking, fleeting, infiltration, scout? need I say more? ;)

Ask the BTs if "fearless" got screwed as much as "no matter the odds". Man I miss telling tyranid players, " I don't care how many guys you have. My Ld is at -1. :) "

G

I still think GW should have converted "no matter the odds" into the new loosing combat by the number of wounds you took.

I mean if you think about it, they're the same Idea, no matter how much we got smacked in combat, we don't back the hell down. ;)
