campbell Posted September 9, 2008 Share Posted September 9, 2008 Hey there, Only recently made a return to the fang after a while out in the cold and I have some confusion over Grimnar's company emblem. In the 2nd ed. 'dex the Rampant wolf was the only named iconography related to Grimnar as the emblem for the company of the great wolf, and the howling moon style was connected to 'Alaric Nightrunner'. (Pretty cool for me as Alaric happens to be my name) Now, according to 'How to paint space marines' the moon howl style is listed as Grimnar's chosen emblem although he and the rest of his great company still bear the rampant wolf style. Am I to assume according to current thouht the howling moon was Grimnar's personal choice before it was superceeded by the rampant one upon his promotion to Great Wolf? ..and what ever happened to Alaric? http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/style_i...s/icon1.gifHope you follow.... Commissar Volker Posted September 10, 2008 Share Posted September 10, 2008 The rampant wolf was Russ' badge, and is also the Great Wolf's emblem. Grimnar does indeed have the Nightrunner as his own companies emblem as well. The only people who use the Great Wolf's emblem are the Drednaughts, and the various priests of the chapter, who form the Great Wolf's company, while Grimnar has a normal company in addition to the Great Wolf's company.
