Drill those Multimelta barrels! :P Side note: how do you paint your bone? Looks like bleached bone + brown ink wash + white/bleached bone highlights, except I've never seen such a nice looking wash. Draakur Posted September 24, 2008 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Yep, digging it :) solid paintjob, and I'm still finding the colours work nicely together (the bone with that particular shade of purple really clicks). At one stage I was wondering if silver might have been a better choice for the rims and other detailing, but I think the bronze has turned out to be a good decision, especially based on that last pic. Actually looks like they're boogieing. :ph34r: I hadn't noticed that as I'm painting them one by one myself. I love the bone and purple scheme you've got going there. The bronze fits as well, but I don't know, I'm missing something in the pictures. Maybe it's a bit to shiny looking compared to the rest of the miniatures. Maybe it could benefit from a devlan mud or badad black wash to give it a bit more definition and dull it a bit. I don't know. But this is shaping up to be another great army. Khrangar Posted September 25, 2008 Author Share Posted September 25, 2008 Well how I've done the gold is Dwarf Bronze base, Shining Gold over top, Gryphonne Sepia wash, and then a highlight of Chainmail and Shining Gold. It looks more dulled out on the models IRL but the are kinda shiny in the pics. I'm kinda playing with the gold as I go so hopefully I find something that works well eventually. @#13: I actually sold the Sons of Guilliman but I got commissioned by the guy who bought them to paint more. If you put most marines in a row when taking pictures, especially the 4 views of them, they look like they're dancing. @Draakur: It does look rather bronzy in the pics, probably due to the wash, but it's supposed to be gold. I think I like the other head more. It has a more disgusted look on it which I figure would work for someone who dispises heretics and xenos. Should I make the bone sections blue/black and keep the arms how they are, or make the arms bone, or something else? Black and purple looks good, but blue and purple, not so much. 2) How should I arm the Captain. He already has the Company Champion's sword (not shown) but can't figure out what to give him as his second weapon. Any ideas?
