Yes, if the Nestir's Fate AoD fades into stagnant obscurity, I'll see about running one at some point when I know that I have two months free (because that's how long it takes to plan and run an AoD).

O,o that thread just raised more questions that answers...so...please bear with me:
1) If the Nestir's Fate campaign does start up again, will new players be able to join?
2) How does it work, fluff-wise? I mean, mods/people in charge write the fluff for the battles and all the background and then players write the fluff for their characters and why they are there etc and then the mods take these characters and put them in their specific places in the storyline which is gradually determined by the results of ChaosvsLoyalist duels between these everyone's heroes?

nestir unsure how its going to work it might be rebooted or it might be left to rest and brother tyler will start working on the mod one
right then arena of death 101
its basically you have 2 sides chaos and imperial each person make characters within rules and mod will fight a battle one on one between two of the people in the teams. Way fights are decided is by bidding system so chaos bids x and y for 2 people to fight while imperial will bid c and f whoever has highest bids get to have there pick for the battle. If you look in the arena of death forum you will see lots of threads on past arena of deaths.

So the two players with the highest number of votes for them to fight send their two characters t go do battle, but what is the extent of the contribution of the players to the fluff?

For the background it's generally the way of conduct that the one organizing the AoD will post a background story explaining the reason the AoD is happening. (Sort of in the same style as GW's world wide campaigns.)
Next usually follows a post or two with the rules etc and any limits used.
After that those who want to participate are required to post a small snippet of fluff describing their character, his/her personality etc and a list of wargear etc.
After that has been compiled the AoD can begin.
Then the organized usually gives a set scenario for the battle to come. (The traditional "Death or Glory!" and "Generatorium" springs to mind.)
After the fighting 'players' have been decided the owners are asked to submit a PM to the organizer. This PM is usually asked to contain what forces that are supposed to be under command of the character, a few lines of trash-talk for the fight, a few more in depth lines concerning the personality of the character and/or his men, at times you can even submit how you'd like your characters end to be in case of death etc, and the general combat tactic(s) to be employed.
All of this together then help with shaping the Battle "report" so to say.

I had forgotten about this thread.
Thanks for the banners. I am still confused on what an arena of death is but no worries.
Thanks once again

What? I just told them it was for the greater good, and they let me kill them.

Imagine it, you and your sibling hanging out, playing a game, and your sibling continuely telling you your playing it wrong, that you have no idea what your doing and they know better. Then you shout at them, and storm out of there. Now imagine if you and your sibling had power armour, demi-god like abilities and the greatest combat weapons created by Man........I wonder if Guilliman's nose was continuely broken from telling his brothers they were fighting wrong?
