My Doublewing (DW squad finished)

VanSan

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am from Salzburg (Austria). Perhaps some of you know my armoured company "Taipan".

But now i decided to start a second army and i choose the deathwing, because one of my first GW

games was Space Hulk and i love the Terminators. The second reason is that you can`t play a

Armoured company in the 5th edition any longer and i need a "new" gaming army.

ok here some pictures:

First my version of Belial

Terminator Squad 1

Terminator Squad 2 (i like the old moldels because of their great amount of detail!)

"Ravenwing Bikes"

Because this is a Space Hulk themed army i don`t want bikes in it but i want to test them in combination

with the Terminators so i built this robots that represent the bikes.

and here a group shot of what is painted at the moment ( i changed the weapons from Belial for gaming reasons)

Seconded...

Welcome to the B&C VanSan and what an entrance you've made.

That's stunning painting skills on display there, and those robot bikes – :P. What more needs be said. The Space Hulk flooring is an excellent touch, and very cleverly used to boost the height of the older models – which look equally stunning despite their age.

Cheers

@all

@taffeh

thats correct

@Wraithwing

I don´t like the new LCs very much because the look like power fists with blades on it.

Welcome to the B&C VanSan (I may be late in saying it, but it's no less heartfelt).

That is an extremely good-looking army. Could we have a few more close ups of the bikes, please? I'm trying to work out how you did them.

Hrm... very nicely done. I agree with the overall opinion on the new lightning claws. The old ones had much more style, if they did tend to be less straight than the new ones.

The robot "bikers" while not something I'd do for a unit, does give me an idea for Objective counters themed around Space Hulk. C.A.T. counters. Two birds with one stone. :-D

Overall, very lovely Deathwing.

Wicked Sick.

I sincerely hope my Deathwing models turn out as nicely as yours (they've been in the "greywing" for a year now <_< ). Everything is spot on the subtleties, like the light sourcing with the eyes, and that's what makes the models really pop.

VanSan you sir have way to much time on your hands and to many small brushes.

:lol:

I'd be afraid to put your models on the table for fear of damaging the fine work you have put into those.

I almost feel embarrassed considering my DW has components built/painted between 3rd and 5th edition in the army

This is one of those occasions when you find yourself unable to find an appropriate phrase to express your admiration...

That is a very fine army. It was to start with and now its even better!
