Unlike most people both my brother and I don't have a problem with mould lines, so we get by just fine. So if you see any mould lines on my models or my brother's then don't jump up and down pointing them out because we'll drown you out with static :P

Speaking of which, I've nearly finished gluing him together. Pics very soon :)

And here he his :) Just needs a wash over the green and maybe in other places, then a gloss coat and he's done dusted :D

They're all lookin' pretty good for first time paints ^_^

Just one comment ... and it's a basing comment!

If you're going to base up with the static grass, just make sure you paint your bases an earth colour first. Otherwise you can kinda see the bright colour you used on the feet through the grass.

Other than that, keep going and you'll have improved quite a bit in no time :)

Just a small update before I base and gloss him. Had a go at the Chapter Symbol; seems to have come out alright, but the top is bigger than the bottom <_< and I can't seem to correct said error, so I'll leave it.

good form ,, 2 things tho , dont base coat the base black use a brown or green , and are you sure you want to gloss varnish?

, there is no coming back from gloss!!

Well I've done it before. And I'm going to try out some spray-on gloss on this guy and see what happens.

Well I decided for tweaking purposes not to gloss any more minis. And I just based the multi-melta guy, and now I claim him finished

Well I decided the Chapter Symbol needed redoing and the skull on the gun, so that's just what I've done

  • 1 month later...

*blows dust off of thread again*

*chokes on dust* :P

..."ahem" I'm back and with a small update, and an announcement: the army will grow! :P Yes after many months I somehow have acquired a ton of cash which I plan to use wisely. So I'll be purchasing some more Marines for my Phantoms army ;)

And the update - well, all I can say is "It's about time" :P The Vanguard I got for Christmas are finally getting finished ;)

Bases done first for some reason...

And here's the small progress on the first of the 5. These guys are gonna take forever, too many fiddly bits and imperfections on the models themselves :D curse metal models...

C&C welcome as always

Well since I decided to answer to the Call of the Imperium MkIII, I want to finish these guys off badly. And I've made more progress.

And before anyone says, I know there are blobs of paint all over him, that's the idea ;)

And my dad let me use some glue to test out on a marine:

Seems like a success to me. Onwards and upwards!

C&C welcome :P

No love? ;) Ah well, onwards and upwards. Here's the progress from last night that I didn't get to upload until now:

Current progress - swapped the boltpistol with a plasma pistol while gluing :o very close call. Anyway, I'm painting that so expect some more really quick.

I dont know why but your finished models seem to 'work' colourwise for me, when i really didnt think they would.

I think its been mentioned a few times but uses some washes will really add some depth to your chars, dont be heavy handed and dont be affraid to water them down and try diffrent colour washes. It can really improve the quality of a model with very little effort

Here is today's small update. As you can see I've picked the paint off the top of the legs as i was way too thick. I've also had a crack at gluing his arm down, hopefully it'll work this time.

And today's update so far. Finally got the legs done to a reasonable standard :) Working on the base bit underneath his feet:
