What is the point of taking a power weapon ona captin/chapter master. It's just as exspensive as a lightning claw and dose the same thing exept it can't reroll to wound. Am I missing something or are my rules wrong.

With lightning claw you need second claw to get a bonus attack in close combat. With power weapon any normal close combat weapon like bolt pistol will do.

You're just missing the part were it is mentioned that Lightning Claws need to be paired with other Lighning Claws in order to get a bonus attack. Should be in the BRB's Close Combat Section....

IIRC, the math works out pretty much the same for both against T4 opponents, worse for the LC against T3 opponents, and better the LC for T5 and up. There's a reason it costs about the same thing. One kills average troops better, the other kills tougher troops better.

It dosen't say anythig about only other lightning claws can give the bunos atacks. theres just a description and that it's a power weapon that rerolls to wound. And warp angel how can a lighting claw do worse against t3 foes then a powere weapon

The rulebook does say a lightning claw needs a second for the extra attack, can't remember exactly where, but trust me, it does. The reason the PW/BP combo is better against weaker troops is because of the extra attack, re-rolling to wound against T3 isn't as useful as it is against T5.

I believe its actually in the codex not the rule book, but powerfists require 2, thunderhammers require 2 and lightningclaws require 2. Something about being specalist weapons.

Page 42 is where the rulebook talks about lightning claws and bonus attacks, and it does say that you need to have two power fists/thunder hammers/lightning claws to get the bonus attack. Second paragraph underneath 'A normal and a special weapon.'

It's in the Rulebook under weapon types. It lists thunder hammers, power fists and lightning claws as weapons that require pairs in order to gain the benefit from an extra cc attack.
