Greetings Mortals! I come to you today to inform you about one of the best, most in depth and visual amazing DOW mods around. Enter Firestorm Over Kronus. The mod has been in development for several years now, and unlike most mods out there, FoK wont be dieing, or even slowing down for a long time. DoW40K:FoK is a 'closer to codex' mod. The mod not only radically changes gameplay and refines balance, but also is continually adding new units, upgrades, and abilities. A large and active community has grown up around this mod and we currently have around 900 members at our forums actively contributing ideas and suggestions. here is just a teaser of what we have done :)

The mod has focused on Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Orks, Imperial Guard, Eldar all with new models, texture, balance and more!

The mod also includes Necrons, and BLACK TEMPLARS! all fully functioning, animated and bad ass!

We were recently voted into the top 100 gaming mods for 2008 and were the only DoW mod listed!

Please take a look at what we have done, updates are coming in by the day! 3.5 in not a long wait away and we have a pre-release out in the community already! So come take a look at our moddb page or say hello at our forums, New members are always welcome!

Well we are working on it =). at the moment we need to finish work for 3.5 however then their are plans to move on to soulstorm! its unlikely that we will have the new races straight away (there is a hell of a lot coding and balancing to be done) but they will be there dont worry. As it is there is more than enough content to keep any DoW player foaming at the mouth!

So, it's for the BASE DoW game and not any of the other expansions? Does this mod have its own single player campaign or does it just allow you to play the single player campaign with the modded units?

It's for DC, says so in the header.

WHat I'd like to know is - what's new and whats different compared to the standard game?

Sorry if I wasnt clear, This mod is for Dark Crusade, at the moment the DC campaign does work but some fortress missions still have some bugs.

well we have new units eg techmarine, Venerable dreads, chaos marks, Eldar aspects, cover has been reworked and units are resized and given new abilities as near to codex as possible. Everything is more customizable. Its better than vanilla in every way!

That's good. Although if you decide to use C:WH as base, please don't force players to use any Inquisitorial units. I was elated by the fact that this is a Sisters of Battle only army, as that is what I play in tabletop as well.

I believe (and dont quote me on this) that their will be an Inquisitorial race. at the moment Gray knights are an option to be taken with Imperial guard. I think we will change that in SS so that you take one race and then choose which branch of inquisition you take. Eg gray knights or sisters of battle. im sure there will be some Inquisitorial units in there somewhere but we will by no mean use them over the ones already made.

@ Raziel. everything goes in your dark crusade root folder.

C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

The Sisters are not a branch of the Inquisition, they merely have an official agreement to help the Ordo Hereticus out whenever asked for. In otherwords, the vast majority of actions the Sisters take have nothing at all to do with the Imquisition, but rather, have more to do with their duties to the Ecclesiarchy and their own desires to spread and protect the faith.

Basicly what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to be forced to use some boring inquisitorial stormies or inquisitors (which to me they all are, just a matter of taste mind you) when I can just play the normal game and get the actual Sisters of Battle. I'd like to have a reason to download this mod, but if I'm forced to use the Inquisition crap then I don't see any reason to do so...

@ Arenis, Im not sure where the RC is at, Im a tester and am running on a different version (:) I hope I havnt given anything away!)

techmarines should be the SM builders. If you dont have them now then you'll be in for a treat! They can also be built at the armoury.

@ Melissia, storm troopers (which look great I might add) will very likely be used by the Ordo forces. But if you dont want you use them they hey! your given the option, your not being forced to play with them so if you dont want to then dont. They will be as codex as possible so if they are in the army book they they should be in their! if not.... then they wont be =) If you want your Ideas to follow through become a forum member and say so! :D

I hate the fact that they are in the codex in the first place, and Iw ish they continued the Codex: Sisters of Battle instead of tackming on the Inquisition in such a half-assed way. But my main concern is merely that I don't want to have to play the Inquisition, because I'm not an Inquisition player.

I'll go register and post on the forums tomorrow I suppose.
