(FYI, would people go for a collection of TSOALR characters?)

May be taken as an upgrade sergeant for 50 pts. in a Sterngaurd squad

VETERAN TROOPER SMIK

Normal Stats but with -1 initiative

Overpainted Mass

Smik has been painted over hundreds of times and has accumulated a great deal of weight.

Grants Smik the slow and purposeful movement, and +2 Strength

Poisonous paint and brake fluid fumes

Smik always wounds on a 3+ or better, and makes enemies in base contact lose 1 to their attack characteristic (to a minimum of 1)

Under many paint schemes

Smik utterly represents the development of the chapter and makes the unit he is with fearless.

No, I think you misunderstand me: +2 S doesn't matter if he always wounds on a 3+, similarly -1 I is barely going to matter as he is SnP and strikes last anyway. I think you should keep it, but just remember it doesn't actually do anything. :jaw:

I always like that. It pads the fluff while still keeping balance on the model.

Additional rule:

"I can't get a shot past the fat guy"

Instead of allocating wounds to the whole unit before rolling saves as usual, each successful (saveable) wound is rolled against Snik until he goes down; any remaining wounds are then allocated as normal.

Also known as the "Pie-eating human shield" rule.

I think I'll use that rule actually, but to make it more fair, for each hit you roll it and on a 5 or 4+ he gets hit instead of equally allocating.

IIRC SnP models attack at regular initiative and +2 S helps against light vehicles and is required when determining instant death. with S6 he would instantly kill guard officers and other T3 models.

Well, its a better upgrade then (yay!)

But what I really need here is a points cost, any takers?
