Name: Damcoles Command Land Raider
Points: 300
Type: Vehicle (Tank)
AV: 14/14/14
Transport Capacity: 0
Wargear: Improved Communications, Teleport Beacon, Orbital Bombardment, Smoke Launchers, Search Light, 2x Twin-linked Lascannons, Heavy Bolter.

Special Rules:

To save time, if youre not sure of the rules take a look here http://www.forgeworl.../ia2-update.pdf

I wasn't sure how to price this, so I started at 300. You get a bunch of bonuses, but loose transport capabilites, so I figured its a fair price, especially when compared to the "wonderful" Terminus.

i think it is a bit ridiculous, the damocles rhino doesn't lose its transport cap. either.

the land raider command vehicle is called the prometheus.

what you have created is a command bunker, not the rapid assault vehicle land raiders are.

sorry, but that's how i feel about it.

According to the IA rules above, it doesn't have a transport cap. listed, so it has none. That being said, a land raider with las cannons is hardly a rapid assault vehicle, a crusader fits that title more closely.

The Land Raider was originally made to be a heavy transport. They provide cover fire for their squad that they unloaded.

Its protection, combined with its transport capacity (10 marines in power armour or 5 Terminators), would make it a perfect mobile bunker, except for the lack of firing ports for passengers.

Walah.

The Land Raider MkIII Crusader was released in September of 2000 as a close assault version of the Land Raider geared towards transporting more troops

This is true, but all Land Raiders are supposed to be transports.

This idea is pretty cool...but it need a lot, a lot of refinement.

Sweet emperor, you are right, sorry about that, always thought it was an hq transport option. now i have to tweak my army lists again.

well maybe not a rapid assault vehicle, but an assault vehicle nontheless. it even sais so in the unit entry.

may i ask why you want to use a landraider as its base? and not hide the rhino variant behind a large rock to avoid being shot at.

Still considering the size of a Land Raider and the expense to a chapter I would at least let it carry the commanders bodyguard so say 6 models.
1. As a Wargamer I am not owned by one company alone.
2. As a Wargamer I am loyal to excellence in rules sets that encourage balance and fair play. (either in tournaments or in casual play)
3. As a Wargamer I am loyal to Excellence in miniature manufacturing.
4. As a Wargamer I am loyal to companies that are fair in pricing.
5. As a Wargamer I am loyal to companies that are accessible and provide me with timely information.
6. As a Wargamer I am loyal to companies that value me as a customer, not as a commodity.
7. In return these companies will receive my financial support.
