The Sabre was developed in 399.M40 following the discovery of the STC for a feasome weapon, dubbed the Quasar Cannon. The Quasar Cannon was developed on Mars itself, using the STC along with technology recovered and salvaged from Eldar D-cannons. Within a relatively short time the cannon was readyfor the primary tests. Mounted on a Shadowsword chassis, the cannon is a devestating, if not unpredictible weapon.
Although the cannon was developed on Mars using xenos tech, it was under extreme secrecy due to the lack of knowledge of Vortex weapons on this scale

0-1 Sabre Super-Heavy Tank
Points: 800
SP: 3
Armour: F14 S13 R12
BS 3

Weapons
1 Hull mounted Quasar Cannon
2 Sponson mounted twin linked heavy bolters
2 Sponson mounted las-cannons

Quasar Cannon
Range: 72"
S-
Ap-
Ordinance 1*
* After the target is chosen roll D6. This is the radius of the blast's effect. Any model hit suffers a Vortex hit. On the result of a 1, the Sabre suffers a Vortex hit as the Sabres Warp generators overload.

Comments? Too powerful? Overpriced?

I would veto this, its cannon is unequivicably stronger than a vortex grenade. A vortex grenade is one shot, short ranged (6"), has a solid chance of scattering into you units, it cost 250pts+the model that has to carry it. This has a larger blast radius, longer rang, without risk of comming back to bite you, and can be fired as many times as you have turns.
It ignores cover, invulnerable, armor, number of wounds, eternal warior, everything. What it hits dies, unless its a superheavy or gargantuan creature, then it just has a good chance of dieing.

TL:DR vortex CANNONS are a bad idea

Also using xeno tech in its creation is heresy, please report to the nearest commisar for exicution.

longer rang, without risk of comming back to bite you,

how about if i remove the minimum range, reduce the maximum range and change the downside of the weapon to the following:
"if a 1is rolled, no hits are resolved against the target. The Sabre counts as being hit by a Vortex weapon"

Also using xeno tech in its creation is heresy, please report to the nearest commisar for exicution.

Im sure there have been examples somewhere of Imperials using xeno-tech, for example, Pasanius' bionic arm in The Ultramarines Omnibus and the Adeptus Mechanicus higher-ups dont need to know about it :)

Thats a start I would also say make it a blast templete not an Ordinance templete. This is new and not well understood tech. The raw power requierments alone should preclude a larger area of effect scince this is using such a small engine. Think about it this is basically a mini starship warpdive here and you are trying to project that effect over didstance. For a first pass at the weapon it should be just about as dangerous to the user as to the enemy. Once the Adeptus Mechanicus have tinkered with it for a few hundred years then we can think about maybe getting better range.
