Death Guard Army 'The Antares Malestrom'

Too bad you didnt build that defiler. You bought it off of ebay. Your the guy that out bid me on that auction. I saved the pic's of it before you retouched it up.

I did build it, and I most certainly did not buy it off Ebay.

The model was made available in the (now defunct) Troll magazine that GW published. Before the plastic Defiler was released, you could buy a very heavy and very expensive pile of bitz that turned into this version of Defiler. (This was back when GW bitz was still good) So there are other models out there like it.

Here is one of my threads from a different forum with the first photos I took of it. Please notice that the thread was posted a couple of weeks shy of three years ago.

I would like to see the photos you mention, out of curiosity. Can you post them here?

I currently have the following in my queue of models, and haven't the foggiest idea of what to do next. Here is the list, please reply with what you would like to see. Thanks!

AoBR dread

2 Rhino

Predator

Land Raider

Terminator squad

I would love to see the FW Sorcerer as well as the Orgryn worked up as a DP. I also think that your version of the Landradier will be a treat.

Also a quick question you mention that you got the pipes idea from another member and I looked over the 11 page WIP thread you linked to, did you have a link to the write up on the tube exhausts? I am really considering adding this to my DG rhinos(when I get around to starting them that is)

This is just a mild Nurgilization of the Black Templars parts.

A little bit of work completed.

WIP Termie front torsos made from the AoBR Sgt.

The very early stages of Dread conversion. Exhaust from Defiler. Sarcophagus cut out to replace with head and armor similar to metal ven dread. This model will get a bunch more work done to it, as well as custom weapons. Stay tuned...

AoBR termies getting the beginnings of Nurgleization

Test model, made from a different project. I might stick with the halved paint scheme. With these models either the eagle or the helmet must go, maybe both. I have loads of termie bits to play with.

Thank you!

I'm just trying to make a coherent-looking army. Chaos has always been my favorite, and this Nurgle project has been a lot of fun. I just wish I had more time to work on it, I'm making very slow progress lately, but things are still coming along and looking good.

The AoBR squad is coming along, slowly, but things look good!

I especially like this combi-melta, using the bit from the command vehicle sprue, and a femur from the crypt ghoul sprue.

I wish I had more time for modeling, but I can only sneak in a little here and there. This is what i got done today...

Going with the K.I.S.S. theory on this guy. I think it works.

Edit - When looking at these close-up photos, I see that the targeter lens thing is pointing the wrong way! Ha!

Great stuff as usual. I wish you had more time for modeling as well so I could see what you are cranking out. The AOBR termies look great so far. Targeter is backward but maybe it is looking behind the Terminator so I guess it could work.

The purple plague stuff on the corners.

My pleasure! Look at these two photos -

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa276/aeroplane_album/PlagueRhino2.jpg

Take a couple of different sizes of tube, cut into pieces, and glue them on the rhino.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa276/aeroplane_album/Rhi4.jpg

It's not all that clear in this photo, but now just take some greenstuff and make some gooey/fleshy in the cracks and around the tubes. Then paint. It's really simple, you should try it!

My scythes from Paulson Games arrived...

Nice new model but for the tubes, i asked for the colour scheme from it not the conversion itself  .

Um, yes, you did... Sorry...

Mix the Foundation flesh color with pink, paint a solid coat.

Wash with purple

Drybrush the pink, for highlights.

Thread Necro!! (But I'm the OP, so it doesn't really count... :smile.::smile.::smile.: )

Long story short all my 40K stuff got packed away when my son was about 1yr old. 4 big storage tubs packed tight. Well, he's almost 10 now and interested in 40K - so the armies are being resurrected.

First out is the AOBR (That's "Assault on Black Reach", the 5th edition starter set from 2008) dreadnought conversion - Added the nurgletubes and other stuff and I think he looks great. Will do just a bit more prep and magnetize the arms, but he's essentially ready for paint.
