Black Fists Space Marines

Recommended Posts

I went out and finally got some .040" plasticard rods, so I did the rivets on my Dreadnought. This is pre-sanding, so they can all be an universal size.

And I finished the squad....in terms of torsos :( The guns aren't glued on yet, thats why there are gaps in the hands.

And since I only have a squad or three of Deathwing..I'm seriously contemplating using my Land Raider Exterminus for my Black Fists.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2776.jpg

The only problem is, is that the iconography on the weapon housings are swords and wings....I could peel them off, but I'm almost certain that it'll leave a residue, and unsightly markings on the housing detail... What do you think I should do? Should I rename the chapter Obsidian Angels? I'm not a fan really...but I don't know...

Looks great, the rivits make the Dread looks aces. Yes Como is short for Comunacation trooper or raidoman or radio op or your 0621 MOS.

As for removing the symbols its not that bad, you just need a good file. Take off the old symbol and then file and sand until your back to bare plastic. There is nothing that can't be recovered with a little time and effort, and sharpe blade, and a good file.

Then again there is few things you can't get done with just a sharp knife B)

Dude don't even trip.

It shouldn't be too much of a hassle to remove yeah.. but a hassle nonetheless.

You don't really need to justify it to anyone but yourself if you know what i mean.. If you slap some Fist Iconography on there, should be just fine..

I mean for example in my Army; Called the Star Shades.

The symbolism is mainly BT, but painted otherwise. BUT i also use Dark Angel stuff.. But what i did to justify the Angel Iconography was say that an Elite/Fast Attack Entry is called 'Shade Angels.'

So they still have the BT Cross, but only some of the units are elite lore Angel ascendants or something lol..

For your army, you could just say the Tank is the personal transport of... The Angelic Fist. Your supreme grand master or something, and that would clear some stuff up.

Lol, anyway just examples. Kudos on the Army, keep it up!

My friend is giving me a Vindicator with Dark Angel Doors attached :) I plan on just painting the Reeper model red and calling it good lol for my crimson fist army...If it's a custom chapter and you like the logos i'd say keep em imo.

I've started work on my 1st Company Captain..I don't know where I'm going with him yet, I just wanted to give him a storm shield :P :D I think its a good decision. You don't see too many right handed shields, except for the masters of the chapter, which is where I got the shield, since I had 2 kits...

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2782.jpg

And the molds for the shoulder pad detail and belt buckles was a great success!

I'll see what I can do about ripping off those DA icons...I used plastic glue, so it leaves a bit of residue...even when sanded. I had to pull of some for my current Land Raider, and you can see some holes where they were. Hmm.. :-/

It was a bit harder on the Raider, because f the raised edges around it. So I don't know how I'll do the others.

I guess I don't know how to count, I only assembled 9 Sternguard :) So I put together another. I'll start on the legs later.

I also pulled out the firsts casts for the shoulder pads. It was a bit tricky, because I used less green stuff than I should have, so there weren't any lips for me to grab on to. And the belt buckles turned out great...but one of them...had a piece of hair molded onto it...so theres a nice thin line going down the side of it. :P Oh well

The GS casts are currently making me very happy, especially the ease of adding them to my marines.

Now I just have to finish...start his legs. And add pouches and stuff. Every Marine will have the bolt pistol holsters...so far, I have 3 casted...sheesh :)

I'm not sure if I want battle damage on my Exterminus...I'm not a huge fan of it.

But thanks on the painting ^_^

I'm still thinking on that Land Raider... This is the busiest week I've had in a while. Several rehearsals for the Hollywood Christmas Parade, went to see Wicked tonight, football game to play at on Friday, tomorrow I have several rallies...damn...

I did more casts, and I should be able to get 3 sets of shoulder pads done at once.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2797.jpg

I did a set of grieves too, but they didn't come out at all. Looked horrible, so I won't be doing them.

Just keep working at it Tybrus. And watch my tutorial videos ;)

Ah...so I bought a full close combat terminator squad from Rictus last week, and they arrived. :D And the 5 sets of DA Shoulder pads as well. Though I must say..I kinda hate having a bit of OCD...

And I think now that my 1st company has amassed its numbers to 60 or so, including random characters and such. Heres a picture of the army as it stands...quite an expensive one, I'll say. ;)

Squad Prometheus.

The members of Sternguard Veteran squad Prometheus have been hand selected by Sergeant Andromedus. Each member has been in the squad for over a century. They have all had extensive training with every weapon in the Space Marine arsenal, though they are highly specialized in all forms melta weaponry more so than any other. As Prometheus was a being of fire, they use the burning might of melta weaponry to take down their foes.

This squad is going to look like its using as much cover as it can get.

Finished one of the Lascannoneers. He has a servoskull to make sure his aim is true... or something... and the parchment on the casing of his weapon is for tallying of his vehicle kills.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2845.jpg

I added another guy to his squad as well. This one I had fun with coming up with the idea. I imagined a guy peeking around a corner to snap a shot, but instead, I figured marines wouldn't peek, so he'd just be leaning up against a wall or something to hold his arm steady.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2841.jpg

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2842.jpg

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2843.jpg

The whole squad will get their wings when they're almost all complete. 2 down, 8 to go.

I finished the flamer guy to the best of my ability, I need to locate some sort of tube for his flamers.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2855.jpg

For the guy leaning on the wall, I was unable to undo his torso, as I used plastic glue, and I didn't want to break him.

The dreadnoughts can be used as either venerable or normal, depending on how I want to play.

And yes, the Warmachine bases are a pain, I've used them on my first Terminators, so I kept with the plan. I just cover my bases up with a small piece of cardboard with some glue. Saves precious resources.

After seeing the preview to Iron Man 2, and an episode from Avatar: The Last Airbender, season 2. (Yes I'm a kid still though :D )

I took this:

http://dailypop.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/whiplash.jpg

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/Picture1-3.png

I created this guy. He will be on an Vanguard Assault Marine's body, with a jetback, to be looking like hes landing, while bringing his lightning whips down. In the codex, it says any Vanguard marine may replace his pistol for a power weapon, and since the Sergeant already has one, and a power sword, I gave him two. I hope this is legal, but if its not, I could just give another Vanguard one of them. They both count as power swords, I don't know how well that'll fly in the gaming world, but I think it looks kinda cool.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2854.jpg

I've made hardly any other progress anywhere though.. But I thought it was kinda cool :D

Let me know what you think please. :D

Thanks Capt. Lysander. The whips are quite long, but they are far from fragile. The green stuff is wrapped around a thin metal wire. I decided to magnetize the whip arms, since they're so big, they'll most likely get in the way of an actual game.

I've finished the crux terminatus' on my command squad and on Sternguard Squad Prometheus, including knee pad detail and belt buckles and stuff. I used the instructions from WD 356, with the Space Hulk how to by the 'Eavy Metal team.

What do you think? =-D I think its the best I've ever painted anything before =-D The bases are still in progress...I'm just too lazy to pour the glue for the sand...

Comments please? =-D

Haha, thanks about the whip. When I play, I'll just leave the arms on until they get in the way of the actual game play, then I'll take them off. The cloaks aren't actually done. The tan is just a basecoat, its not done yet, but thanks for thinking its great.

I took the time to finally base all the models in my army except maybe a couple of guys I didn't see. I'm waiting for most of the glue to dry, as I did it in waves, but I'll paint them sometime soonish.

The Command Squad was based in wave one, with all the other non-glued models. They're based a bit higher than everything else, and they're also pinned to the cork, because with my experience with putting models on top of something like a piece of slate or cork, it'll fall off.

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss63/Shortsonfire82/IMG_2871.jpg

This is the army as it stands now, except the Land Raider, which wouldn't fit in the picture ^o)

Could I please get a comment this time? ;)

Sorry to have been away so long,

Love how far you have gotten, and that whip is insane. The use of cover on your guys looks great as well, and will be even better if that fouce is alwys used to hold objectives in your LZ. Your painting is also really getting ALOT better, maybe a nice wash on that shield and your set.

Glad to see your posting again as well...
