Thanks again guys

@pueriexdeus - backround is from Corvus' blog - he has several different colours to choose from.

@Druthu - thanks brother :woot: if you look through this thread you will find some recipes for painting armour (green and bone alike) and as for tutrial I am thinking of making one but as you have already noticed it is not as easy as it may seem but I promise to make one !

@Wayward & Droma - thank you guys - I am glad for all your support. It truly gives me more power to paint more. I may not post a lot in other threads (yours too) but I check them regularly and admire every work done for the Sons of Lion. We are really a strong community here ;)

@stobz - have you restocked your green ? ;)

Phenomenal painting! I am floored. This whole thread is just inspiring.

One thing though, I noticed a lot of the earlier pictures are broken links. Any way we could get re-posts of them if you have the time?

That army looks great. I'm impressed by your ability to paint your Angels with bright reds and relatively bright green highlights and still make them look dark and menacing. The bases are gorgeous too--they're subtle, but they reward a close look. I'm excited for some tanks.

@Plastic Rat - I cannot repost the pictures becuase they were stored on external server which is now off.

They are however stored in my gallery here on tBaC. So you can check them out !

and once again thanks to everyone for your suport. I hope to show you some progress today of my first tank

Bevulf, as far as i'm concerned I think you've really set the bar here in the DA sub forum. Your painting has a nice depth to it, I love the new dread and photos. Though my absolute favourites are without doubt your Deathwing. Sterling stuff, the rhino is shaping up nicely too.

@Wayward - you are right I just didn't want to add too much. I only wanted to accentuate the soft dirt.

@Hexagon Sun - you are very kind - my sincere thanks, but here in this sub forum are many excellent painters who do a great job for the 1st Legion and I think we all set the bar very high compared to other Legions' subforums :D

and Guys I am sorry but I just couldn't resist...

I suppose it was discussed over and over but as I am not into termies equipment as much as into painting them (;)) I would like to ask you guys for some help.

I have just finished cleaning all the parts to make the 2nd squad which I plan to equip as follows:

Sarge - TH/SS

Termie - TH/SS + CML

Termie - TH/SS

Termie - 2xLC

Termie - 2xLC

Do you think it's good to equip one TH/SS termie with cyclone missile launcher ? or better add it to the one with LC ? Tell me what is the best option.

Thank you guys for your help ;)

I generally put them either on LC/LC or on a SB/CF, just for rule of cool.

There are pros and cons for either of the choices you mention, remember that you can't control what the enemy shoots at you so do what you like.

No but wound allocation plays a major part in the results of any wounds sustained. I must admit to not putting the cyclone on a th/ss guy purely so that the better inv saves aren't forced early upon the upgraded weapon model. Plus I like the fact that my cyclone models can shoot both their missiles and their storm bolters.

But in your case bevulf I'd put the th/ss on the cyclone model and keep the twin claws models as they are. I that way you can use them [claws models] as the initial cheap shooting casualties if you're not likely to get them into cc, while preserving the cyclone for longer.

Other might disagree of course :D.

Cheers

I

Isiah is absolutely right regarding allocation vs. low AP wounds, my way is similar for the same reasons.

Unfortunatly high ROF small arms fire negate that to a degree but you can only prepare for flexibility;) (If you take 5 or more same type wounds he will have to make at least one save due to being in his own 'group' either way).

I'm sure you will win any game on rule of cool anyway, can't wait for pics of pure awesomeness!!

:D

Thank you Stobz and Isiah for your help. I understand your points and I will then leave them as I planned.

I am still waiting for my FW order to arrive (deathwing shoulder pads) and will start painting asap.

Thank you once again guys !
