I decided on the ‘cold’ white because of the same reasons as yours - I do not fully like the yellowish bleached look

I prefer that bone as well for Death Wing. It looks especially good with green.

thank you once again Brothers,

@furioso-prime - to paint the 'cold white' armour do as follows:

1. Khemri brown undercoat

2. Khemri/bleached (ratio 1:1) as 1st layer

3. Khemri/bleached (1:2) 2nd layer

4. Devlun mud wash into the reccesses

5. MAIN COLOUR: Khemri/bleached/skull white (1:1:2)

5. Gryphonne sephia wash in to reccesses

6. Bleached/Skull white/glaze medium (from Vallejo) - I paint it almost all over the armour to accentuate the main colour

7. graveyard earth/chaos black - heavilly diluted - I use it for reccecces to deepen the devlun/gryphonne sephia washes

8. bleached/skull/graveyard earth/glaze medium - for glazing and shadowing - only apllied on large armour plates

9. skull white final highlight on the edges

I know that there are a lot of stages/layering but I think that you can simplify this and pass the first 2 stages starting with a basecoat of Khemri/bleached (1:2 or even 1:3) before devlun mud wash

Crazy stuff!

This is fantastic bevulf - although a close up of Arion and his boys will be very welcome... Amazing stuff! Look at the lining of Arias robes... And you have spread them into the column too - one of Arion squad buddies is litterally last! C'mon they deserve a close up! :D

Not to be obsessive compulsive (who me?) but now you must do the Attack Bike and the Land Speeder - no? ;)

And somebody tell Bobz to bring the deamon back! :)

:)

@Bobz / Baptain Bember - Yeah, I need to add some more Land Speeders and at least one more Attack Bike and I think I will some day create a chappy as Master Bobz did recently

@Isiah - my problem with the Ravenwing is that I hate painting bikes (really :) ), I like however the final result and always want to add more ;)

The Ravenwing look great; your lines are super clean so all the detail stands out really nicely. I also really like the red linings of the sergeants' robes. It's not overpowering, but it makes them stand out nicely.

Looking forward to more!

Glad you like them Snorri !!

Recipe is very simple (note that I use old paints):

1. Chaos Black undercoat

2. Chaos/Astronomicon Grey layer (in ratio 6:1) - only a dot of astronomicon just not to turn the black into grey :P

3. Chaos/Astronomicon 1st highlight (in ratio 1:1)

4. Astronomicon Grey 2nd highlight

5. Badab Black Wash all over

6. Re-highlight Astronomicon Grey - not on all previous lines - just cover approx. 75% of them

and that's it ;)
