Chaos Miniatures are way harder to paint then DA. Anyway, if you find this intresting I will be posting some WIP pictures later on Chaos forum. You sir are a masterful painter and modeller (can't wait to see you finish some DW Knights...). I only wish I could have purchased your amazing chaplain off ebay, one of the few auctions I have lost :( I see GW showed your greenwing painted with old GW paints and listed how you painted them with the new paint colors. Do you have a new paint recipie for DW using the new paints that can achaive a matching color to what you have already? Keep up the good work on your chaos and angels! bevulf Posted January 15, 2013 Author Share Posted January 15, 2013 Hi, Thank you very much ! I was suprised to see my miniatures on the website again as they haven’t informed me about that. They changed my paint recipes to fit with the new paints – I really do not have an idea whether the new paints are equivalent with the old ones or not - I do not use them. I have a large stock of old paints so i do not need the new ones right now. That’s why I cannot tell if they match. As for the latest DA release I have to say that I am really pleased. Lots of cool looking models (a modellers dream I would say) . I won’t give any feedback about the rules as I simple do not care about them – it seems that most of the people are rather interested in cool rules than models and painting but it is not in my case. I like fluff, backgorund, models and than the rules. Sorry guys but it does not really matter for me whether Azrael’s sword is AP2 or AP3 or if I can equip my assault marines with shields etc.. In my opinion DA always sucked on the battlefield so I got used to bad rules – but as I said - I’ve never really cared about them. I ordered the limited edition codex just for the sake of having a collector’s item and beacause I have all the older codexes. The cast is horrible - so many holes, rough surface - true nightmare to paint. I did fill most of the gaps and holes with GS but I coudln't fix the rough and cracked surface (especially seen on the back of the miniature - only robe was fine). I bought three finecast minis - Belial, Asmodai and Standard Bearer and only Beial is horrible - other guys have far better cast. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lucian - my bone recipe is fully described somewhere in this thread :) Generally it is a mix of old Khemri Brown / Bleached Bone and Skull White - main colour is above mix in ratio: 1:2:2 @Brother Bobz - thank you valiant brother :) Haven't bought normal copy of the dex yet (I will buy it in the near future) but I am such a freak that before reading the ltd one I wash three times my hands and read it through the foil...I think Lion would be proud :) Painting sword was quite fun. I used glazing as a main method and I glazed, glazed and glazed...very time cosuming. Steps below: 1. Hawk Turquise / Shadow Grey as basecoat 2. I added some skull white to the mix and painted the brighter areas as on pictures. 3. I followed with adding more skull white to the mix and glazed it on the brighter areas several times until I was satisfied with the colour. 4. More skull white added to the mix. 5. even more skull white added :) 5. Final highlight only on the edges with pure skull white :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
