Well, I'm on to my next 40k projects, all Dark Angel related. I'm going to build and paint three drop pods to start.

Well, I have a few I'm thinking of. First off I'm adding three drop pods to the army. I have a secret project, but I will try to stay disciplined and do this first or I'll get distracted.

Here's the next step. Primed doors. Slow progress because I've been working really late with my real job. However, it's something.

So, here's the next step. It may not look like much, but the base coats and the washes for the bone and metallic areas are done.

Tomorrow I should be able to clean them up and highlight those secttions.

After that it's the green areas, then the details on the front and the wear and tear.

Well, not much to see, but progress is slowly being made. Assembly line drop pods suck.

Yeah. It's slow work, and a lot of it. However, I'm still sure it's the way to tackle the project. I think next pass (Sunday or Monday) I'll get the bone and silver detailing done, as well as the cleanup. Then it won't look so messy.

Hey, I've actually made progress. The inside of the doors and the metallics are completed, and they're cleaned up.

Next step the green highlights.

Well, I got the inside green done on 5 doors, one pod's worth. I'm away over the weekend, but I'm planning to start picking up some momentum when I get back.

Here's my latest progress.

I completed the highlights on the green inside of the doors (hard to see).

I based and washed the icons on the outside.

And I completed the icons. Don't worry about the bad photos, once they are done I'll take some close ups.

I had another marathon session tonight. I got the outside of the doors painted. Now I just need to weather and do a little clean up on them tomorrow night.

I then cleaned and primed the bases so I can start the base coats of the next step. This is exciting because the pods can start to take shape.

Well, I've finally had some free time to make some progress. Here are the doors and bases assembled and almost completely painted. The only painting left to do is the weathering, which I'll do once the drop pods are done.

Here is the next step, the inner cores. As I use these pods for dreads only, I will leave the harnesses out. These have the base coat and ink wash. I have to highlight and add the details.

Thanks Isiah.

Well, more progress today. I finished the "turrets" inside the pod, primed the fins, and did the base coats and washes for the metallice and bone colors on them.
