Fellow Bearer of the Word here! Just going to dump some fluff on my Host.

The XXII Host and the Diabolus Ex Machina

The twenty-second host of the Word Bearers has ever been a traditionalist group, faithful to the exact word of the Book of Lorgar; and their most recent Dark Apostle, Korvyn Asharr, is no exception. Permitting no deviance within his Host, he refused to allow any exclusive worship of gods in the warriors who followed him. Despite his skill as a religious preacher and formidable cunning, Asharr is not especially imaginative, and as such the Host is not particularly infamous.

The Chaotic Forge World of Ghalmek, deep within the warp storm that is the Maelstrom, was founded by former devotees of the Cult Mechanicus. One of the first ships to land on the surface was the Mechanicum ship formerly known as the Deus Ex Machina, that had once been a part of a Word Bearers expedition force. The ship, now known as the Diabolus Ex Machina – “the Daemon from the machine” – formed the foundation of the structures on the planet’s surface, and as such, the former Word Bearers Techmarines took control of the planet. By the time of the Second Black Crusade, Ghalmek had been established as the Word Bearers’ primary outpost in the Maelstrom and the source of most of their new equipment.

As the 41st millennium begun, the XXII host was growing low on numbers; but Asharr refused to merge with any other host, less they pollute the host with “impure ideals”. At the same time, Lord-Diabolus Animus of the Diabolus Ex Machina – the Word Bearers who controlled Ghalmek, named for the ship that first landed there – required an escort for operations outside of the Maelstrom. This led to the Council of Sicarus directing the 22nd Host to act as escorts for Animus and his subordinates.

From the moment that the two leaders met, there was an immediate clash of mindset. The Dark Apostle’s devotion to unchanging traditionalism contrasted badly with the Lord-Diabolus’s ideals, which embraced the ever-changing, revolutionary power of Chaos. A divide quickly became evident in the host: between those who remain faithful to the Dark Apostle, and those who felt their loyalties swaying to following of the Diabolus. Whilst this conflict has been harmless, it has escalated to the point that the two factions are on the brink of open warfare.

*scoots away*

I like your ideas, quite cool! But the 22nd Host is already mine, damnit its a conspiracy!!!! Lol

As can be viewed from the list of 'toys' at my disposal i am new to chaos and have managed a swap of my DV Dark Angels for more chaos.

My Dark Apostle will most likely be a conversion/kitbash from a couple of the chosen/lord from the dv boxed set.

Why Kal El? Kal El was the nickname granted to a good friend of mine. One of those people who was always smiling and willing to help. Unfortunately he had to also battle with depression and last year took his own life. He was a character, a fellow wargamer, the first person i met in the gaming community when i moved from London to Milton Keynes.

So for me its a way of rememberance and also celebration as im sure he would approve.
