Wow - it's been such a long time since I've updated this. The reasons for this are many, lack of hobby time, moving house, the Olympics, starting a Guard army and so on and so forth.

 

Either way, I thought I'd post an update with what BA stuff I have painted this year. Without further ado, here's the pics (everyone likes pics don't they?)

 

First up, my Landspeeder Typhoon - this allows me to field a Whirlwind Suppression force with the options of a Landspeeder Tornado or the Typhoon.

Next up is my Predator Executioner - in standard games, I'll be using it as a counts as Baal Flamestorm, this was the last set of pics I took before sticking the tracks on.

Lastly is a WIP shot of a Landraider Redeemer. I've enjoyed painting this, although line highlighting all of that armour was a massive pain in the bum. Worth it in the end though.

Looking awesome mate! Did you use the same method for painting red on the vehicles as your marines? Also what paints have you moved to in lieu of the old colour range?

As for the questions - I do use the same method for painting the infantry, in the old paints it would be a base of Army painter pure red, followed by a layer of Mechrite red and a wash of devlan mud. I'd then layer the armour back up again using Mechrite red, blood red and then blazing orange as a highlight. For special models, I'd use vomit brown as a final highlight before washing the armour with baal red.

 

As for the new paints, at the moment, I've got a stock of the older ones, however, I am currently experimenting with the best way of at least keeping my armour colours relatively the same, as I know that eventually I will need to make sure I've got a set of colours that I'm happy with.

 

The new Mephiston red is very nice indeed and I've used that to with satisfying results on both the Landraider and Predator.

These look really good! One thing that might help give that something extra though is drilling out the barrels on the guns. It's not too difficult and adds a huge amount in terms of pure 'look'.
