FallenLion Posted April 6, 2010 Share Posted April 6, 2010 yo guys, during these hols' i'm winding away time on DoW Dark Crusade :P i've now got the Necron and IG strongholds to take ( I have control over the rest of Kronus) and after finishing the Eldar stronghold I was thinking, which is the easiest one to play - Orks Then I thought, Hardest? - Necron Then the most Fun? - Chaos or Orks gimme your opinions on this :P thanks all FallenLion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I try to play quick games, so I play 'Easy' most often, so nothing is really 'hard'. I'll give my opinions in terms relating to how fast. 'Easiest' being the fastest to beat. Space Marines: Most fun -- definitely IG Easiest -- Chaos Marines Hardest -- Eldar Most annoying -- Necrons As Tau: Most fun -- IG again Easiest -- Eldar Hardest -- Necrons Most annoying -- Marines As Necron: Most fun -- Tau Easiest -- IG Hardest -- Marines.. chapter master 454 Posted April 7, 2010 Share Posted April 7, 2010 Personally find the necrons are a little bit too annoying. The only race where you NEED a good honour guard or you are screwed. IG was fun just because when you steal their titan gun you just set up base there and laugh. I have no hardest because I often had a systematic sweep of the field so I often just turtled my base while my army went out and did objectives one by one. Orks were funny, esspecially when I had the daemon prince chaos lord, I through him at the banners and they went bye bye. However I still believe the biggest piece of rear end refuse to deal with was in soulstorm: not only did it have BS dialogue but the IG were just so damn unfair. 'Lol we haz big gun, lololol we blowz joo up nowz k? bye!' thats how I saw it. However they got the thing to fire at 45 degrees from it's centre mount I will never know. FallenLion Posted April 7, 2010 Author Share Posted April 7, 2010 cheers guys well I did the Necron this morning and it was bloody annoying when it came to the necron tower that freezes your troops it was quite easy just very time consuming since I WAS AT IT FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF i turtled and then slowly took out the bonus objectives then suck thule in a rhino - along with 5 marines squads and a landraider+termies into the bass - stuck down the bomb blew the shizzle outa the nightbringer and rode away to victory thanks for replies and keep em coming Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Although it's been a long time since I played DoW:DC, IIRC I always found Tau stronghold hardest and most irritating. Their guns outrange everyone elses, and often I would get caught up in leading my army, only to find my base had been destroyed, my defenses unable to return fire. Also, getting through the mass of battle suits, tanks and troops to kill the Ethereal was a pain. Easiest for most races would probably be the Orks, although when playing as the Guard, Space Marines was really easy. All you had to do was take over the SM Orbital Realy, then use the Guard's scanner sweep on the SM headquarters, then blast it with Orbital Barrage. It only took 2(or 3) hits to kill it, and you never had to go near their main base. Most fun would probably be Orks(I love watching them turn on each other and listening to their insults."That Gorgutz is a squig herder!") or Chaos(turtling your base and having Persistent Bodies on High gave you a carpet of cultist bodies just outside your defenses). Personally, I thought that the Necrons were fairly easy as about half the races once you held out against the initial assault. If you approached the Necron base from the north, Eldar, Tau or Space Marine could sneak their commander over the wall, plant the bomb, and get out fast, avoiding the main Necron base and(I think) the Nightbringer.
