Only a few of the articles have been written at the moment - Iron Warriors is out, Iron Hands and Alpha Legion are in the works. The other articles are still in my head, but there are pointers as to the other articles in the overview.
This thread is a WIP, but I will put up what I can and this post will be edited with info and eventually pictures as it progresses.
It will be at least a year before I will be finished with the final IA article, and so there will doubtless be another (non-Dornian Heresy) Legio Imprint before I am ready to go with the second part. Hopefully we can take advantage of the available time and interest in part one of the Legio Imprint to get lots of artwork up for each article - hopefully even 3-4 each of the very best submissions rather than desperately scrambling for one picture to go with each article. As many of the articles will not be written for a while, the character of these legions may not be clearly defined, and so it may be best to focus first on the completed IA's and then on others as they are being developed.
Regarding the painter images, I loved the way the first batch turned out. The only thing I thought could be done to improve it was - like the GW IA's - is to have the painter accompanied by an image of the legion symbol, either a simple illustration or on a shoulderpad. I felt that the legion symbol couldn't ne easily shown off on the painter as you were seeing a side view. Similarly, it would have been really nice to have a stylised version of the legion symbol on the article's title bar - not sure the best way - as if embossed or carved into stone... see the GW IA's - perhaps this could be done for part two?
So, in an approximate order of publication...
From the article's introductory paragraph:
Armoured with a suspicion borne of bitter experience, the Iron Warriors have often been labelled paranoid, but as the events of the Dornian Heresy proved, not even brother Astartes can be trusted implicitly. As consummate siege-masters, they were instrumental in the success of the Great Crusade, and after the Betrayal they refortified the Imperium to withstand assaults from within as well as without. While other legions place their trust in dangerous psychic powers or the superstition of blind faith, the Iron Warriors depend instead upon thick walls, overwhelming firepower and meticulous planning to ensure victory.
So they are the siege-masters of the Imperium - both defensive and offensive. Like their norm-'verse counterparts they are still pretty bitter and paranoid, although not to the same degree. Aerion's great front cover showed their use of the Emperor's lightning bolt device in their legion symbol rather than the Aquila. They could well have that very interesting crenellation motif and chevrons on their armour from their GW IA in some way. Some of them may well have servo-harnesses or other techmarine adaptations.
1) Badaboom has offered to illustrate the iconic battle between Perturabo and Sanguinius at the Ultimate Gate. I can't wait to see it.
As to other picture ideas, something along the lines of the above for a picture of an Iron Warrior would be the starting position. Beyond that, I am open to ideas of mental images that grabbed you from the IA.
Examples could be pictures of their extensive armoury of vehicles - from tunnelers, Knight walkers, Fellblades (superheavies like the Baneblade) and even Ordinati! It is rumoured they have Titans, but as it is only a rumour, it may be best to steer clear of showing one.
- Squadrons of Land Raiders and vindi's ready for an armoured blitzkrieg assault, with the biggest war machines silhoetted behind them?
- Similarly a picture of their massed artillery company firing at the enemy - focussing on the IW giving the order to fire and the artillery itself rather than the enemy. .
- An IW fortress bristling with guns and the gun servitors scanning the horizon, and / or an enemy fortress shattered by IW fire and with IW marines forcing a breach in the defensive lines.
- A picture of the Olympian space elevator from the colourpiece, streching up from the highest mountaintop and up into orbit to bring weapons, raw material and the like to and from orbit to supply their armies.

Does anyone have ideas for the painter images or artwork, or better still are volunteering to work on the pictures then shout out here. It is probably easiest to concentrate on the first three.
