Thunderwolf mounts

I'm not very into these other materials yet since all there was that I knew about before I quit 40k years back was metal and some plastic. What glue would you recommend one use on these models?

As mrdandy ones and paulsons aso.

Wanted to throw my hat in the ring for thunderwolf options. I know it's not a favorite of many, but the alternative exists:

A little bit green stuff fur (between those armor/cyber parts) and its there.

I use super glue (krazy glue brand) when working on my resin models, model glue that's normally used for plastic models won't bond with resin but super glue works great. Just be careful not to use too much, or glue your fingers to the model.

I have to say I ordered one of Paulson's wolves a while ago to see what the quality was like. It's arrived and the model is fantastic. That good I've just ordered two more ! Quality is superb can't wait to get painting them and build my Fenrisian Thunderwolf cavalry unit.

I ordered 2 sets of the Mythicast wolves on July 31st, got confirmation that they'd been dispatched on the August 2nd and they arrived this morning ( 12th August), so less than 2 weeks from the Phillipines to the UK. They are stunning models, minimal damage during transit (one wolf with a broken ear which is easily fixed) and because I spent over $120 I received a free wolf mount for the Ironpriest and 4 Fenrisian wolves. Based on my experience with them, I'm very happy to recommend Mythicast :P

I ordered mine around 5th. and i just got mine (18th.). So that is less than 2 weeks to Finland also. And shipping system suggested that this might take 4-6 weeks! :)

Another view on delivery to Finland.

Placed an order on july 27th and still waiting. So it's been 3 weeks and counting.. Tracking indicates that the package is in country allready, but it still has to get to my mailbox.

EDIT:

Got the package today, so 3 weeks and change.

I have to say after wading through all of these posts, I saw some models that tickled my fancy and some that left me wanting, but I've got to say my heart goes out to Mythicast's studio, you guys have produced some truly stunning wolves that my Space Wolves would be honored to ride into battle on, be expecting an order from me sometime in the near future, also, congratulations on the launch of your website and official business!

<3 for Alexandra =)

I personally LOVE Mr. Dandy's Thunderwolves. I honestly can't even fathom why some people would pick anything else but them. They are the right size, different poses, come with legs...

I even have pictures of my built Thunderwolf Cavalry using Mr. Dandy's models + a description of the things I had to do to build them, etc. etc. I am not sure if anyone else has done that before. The seller's website has them built but you they don't shine until you stick some Space Wolves on them.

So any way, if you'd like to check it out you can at:

Wolves for the Wolf God: Mr. Dandy's "Battle Wolf War Mounts"

Hey guys, I did a bit of price adjusting on my wolves and sculpting for the add on armor plates has offically begun, hopefully I will have them available late september.

As soon as you get the armor plates done up, get me a photo and I will update your section of the first page.

Well I've just ordered some Mr. Dandy Wolves for my Lords and Mythicast Wolves for my Thunder Wolf Cavalry, personally I think it should work rather well.

I'll try and post pics when they arrive and I've got them painted up nicely.

Regards

Jonny

How much leg manipulation is needed to mount a Space Wolf on this monster??

I'm through waiting on GW to release these mythical "official Thunderwolf Mounts" of rumored rumor. I do want something GW, and something easy enough to convert. And now that he comes in shiny Grey plastic, this should be a much simpler task.

  • 2 weeks later...

What i would love to see is a line up! I have Canis and Paulson's wolves and just made an order for the 10 smaller wolves and the Ironpriest thunderwolf from Mythicast. Once i have all those i will take pics of them side by side. For now here is some pics of Canis vs Paulson vs the warwolf from Privateerpress. As you can see paulson's wolf is much smaller then Canis but Fangar is in the fluff as being MUCH larger then a normal thunderwolf so it seems right to me. Would love to see a larger wolf from paulson for doing wolf lord models.. maybe with runic legs for the rider too :)
