As always, excellent work. I've followed your work on scouts (both written and modelled) for some time and it even inspired me to rely more heavily on them in my own army lists. I like the dual-wielder. You can never have too many explosive .75 calibre rounds flying into faces. However, I am mildly curious about the last pic. Is he...hugging the bolter? I am well aware of the love that soldiers develop for their arms, but it would seem that this poor gentleman is in dire need of a conjugal visit. ;) Cheers. I look forward to your future projects.

this rifle is mine, there are many like it... ;)

no its the arms from the LSS kit, hes changing the clip

edit: thanks for the kind comments, my personal fave mini is the third one down.. hes very cool and a little pretentious, how youd imagine a human to be if he was slowly discovering his super powers

I mean no offense, but these kind of look like frat boys, what with the Sarge asking for a bro-fist and the third guy after him waiting for a chest-bump. Nice use of the baldy heads, though.

:jaw: they are supposed to be teenagers i guess.. except the old dude sergeant that is

Most scouts graduate into space marines in a few years. I guess these guys just took a bit longer.

my idea was to show scouts ina different light, the current models mae them look like scared children.. truth is before an initiate is chosen he is a hero in his own right, only the best of the best are taken and then made better..

even as a scout these guys would be completely hardcore and i think thats lost on a lot of people..

i think my subtle changes make them look a little harder

Aside from the fact that you put a powerfist on a scout (it was designed for Terminators, and only just works with PA, with scout armour it simply wouldn't work) I really do like these models, and they were very well done.

Ah someone with too much logic ;)

i put it on par with the imperial guard powerfists.

I have done something similar many many years ago. And I had forgotten till I saw your work. I never liked the Plastic Scouts Nice figures, and the old Metal ones were scarcely much better.

But yours are very very nice. Really well painted and brilliantly posed. :tu: :tu: :tu: I will be using this technique again for my BA. :)

Imperial Guard Officers and Commissar's have use of Power Fists. One of my friends favourite figures was the old 2nd Ed (?) Catachan Captain with Power Fist and Bolter. And you know what the Catachan armour is like..

Yeah, but Imperial Guard powerfists are different from SM powerfists. If you really want to model a powerfist onto a scout, you should probably borrow a spare powerfist from your buddy's IG, and if you don't have any buddies who play IG, then you should sculpt it...

It just throws me off when the weapon is almost bigger than the weilder is.

yeah that was a factor, i was tempted to go for the Ig route but had no-one to borrow from.. its why i didnt model it with the fist hanging down.. makes it look terrible ike that

Look very very good, they do look hardcore whilst retaining the newbie look. Also regarding the power fist well they are supposed to be bigger than a normal fist any ways to house the bits that make them a power fist so, I personally do not think it looks silly at all.

dijital_llama, you could give them "beakie" helmets, as they are a little smaller and don't look out of place on scout bodies, or paint camo on their faces rather then skin colour...

Just a thought.

Looking good GC08, nice highlighting and some real badass posings there :D

Very nice concept and paint job. Regarding the PF scale issue, I found for scouts a great solution is to grab some 2nd edition fists. They are smaller than the current ones and still look as if they should be on a marine rather than an IG. In fact, the shoulder piece (designed to fit under 2nd ed pads) is similar size to scout shoulder armour too. Just a thought.
