Captain Bral Reiko had witnessed the deadly skills of the Berserker Lord first hand, and he knew that if he didn't slay the traitor here, then more of his men would suffer. Calling out a challenge to the mounted Traitor, one he knew couldn't be ignored, Reiko got his attention and charged. Seeing the huge armored bulk of the juggernaut bearing down on him, Bral Reiko didn't hesitate, stepping sideways and swinging his relic blade in a great arc, cleanly severing the gigantic beast machine in half. Spinning quickly, he turned to close the distance with the berserker, who had been tossed several yards when his mount was slain.
With a roar of anger, Korotur was thrown from his mount, rising with a curse for the loyalist dog who slew his beast. He turned and saw the Captain charging him, and with a feral cry of delight, he began to charge as well. With a crash like thunder, the two titans met, relic blade and storm shield meeting power axe and pistol. With a grin, Korotur slashed his axe downward in a great arc, aiming for the weak neck joint in the Captain's armor. He was savagely delighted when the loyal marine blocked the blow with his storm shield. Here was an opponent worthy of the Dread Lord's skills. This was a skull worthy of the Blood God.
Bral Reiko felt the weight of the strike, smashing into his shield with deadly force. Still, the shield was made of sterner stuff, and the blow was harmlessly deflected. Striking out with his own blade, Reiko slid through the gap in the defense of the berserker, slicing clean through his bolt pistol, and into his hand. With a wrenching movement, the traitor pulled back, barely saving his hand, but not before losing his gun, and suffering a bloody wound. Pulling back and adopting his defensive stance behind his shield, Bral Reiko began to work through a series of rapid attacks, putting the servant of Khorne on the defensive.
Roaring with frustration at the loss of his weapon, Korotur grasped his power axe in both hands and quickly set up his defense, blocking the feeble blows of the loyalist. Hooking the relic blade beneath his own axe head, he spun down, nearly dislodging his opponent's blade, and jerking him forward off his feet. Korotur lashed out with a kick, catching the Captain directly in the chest, driving him backwards, and crumpling the plasteel and adamantium of his breastplate. Howling with delight, Korotur closed the distance, intent on delivering the coup de grace. He swung his great axe downward, aiming directly for the now dented chest of his opponent.
Bral Reiko felt the force of the kick, and dropped backwards into a roll, coming up just as the giant blade was coming down on him. He drove his own blade upward, grasping it with two hands, and with a surge of power, the two weapons met. Traitorous steel strove against the Relic Blade, and for a moment both warriors were locked in a standstill. Dropping his left hand from the blade, Bral Reiko smashed the storm shield into the horned helm of his adversary, driving him back and stunning him. Pulling back, Reiko punched forward again, crushing into the already dented helm with the shield a second time.
Korotur felt the impact, and was temporarily dazed, before the second strike hammered home. Knocked completely backwards, the Dread Lord felt his axe fly from his grasp. With a scream of frustration, Korotur came to his senses, reaching out, desperately searching for his blade. Finally grasping the handle, Korotur heaved it upwards to block, but was instead surprised, as the heavy axe didn't move. With a rush of pain, Korotur felt his fingers being broken.
Watching the weapon fly from the traitor's grasp, Bral Reiko moved to stand atop it. As Korotur grasped the handle and tried to heave it upwards, Reiko shifted his stance and smashed his foot down on the traitor's hand. With a cry of pain and rage, Korotur looked up at the Herald of Light, spitting his defiance at him. Bral Reiko smashed his shield down again, nearly knocking the traitor unconscious, before swinging his Relic Blade down. Korotur could barely see through the blood and pain in his eyes, but he knew what was coming. With a feral grin, he looked into the descending blade.
"Blood For The Blood God!" He yelled, before being silenced forever.
Bral Reiko heard the blasphemous roar of the traitor, an instant before severing his head cleanly from his body. He watched as the body beneath him spasmed once, then went limp. Wiping his Relic Blade, Bral Reiko turned back to his brethren, raising the blade high. Death to the traitors, for the Emperor.
