Tzen's Word Bearers!

Thanks man. I will be honest, the way I paint my Word Bearers changed a LOT from the start to current day. I never found a paint scheme I was totally happy with until a few years ago. :D

Zardu Lyak is on the list of models to paint. I have him and his minions, and I am super keen to paint them. I rushed the Gal Vorbak in my army to get them onto the battle field, thi sis a nice way of fixing that problem without having to go back to them! :D

And the old metal dreads are awesome. It's a shame I don't get to use dreads very much these days. :(

Kor Phaeron is finished, and here is a pic of his good self and Erebus representing! :D

I am not entirely sure I am that keen on their bases, or the scenic base. Nothing wrong with it, just not sure it fits my other Word Bearers.

Here is some pics of Kor Phareon on his own. I love how this guy walks into his suit of terminator armour, and the contrast between the heretical red armour and the loyalist grey is pretty damn sweet.

My own real issue with this model is the face. It looks like he has had a stroke. This may actually be intentional. His creaking body has been pumped full of so many drugs and undergone so many surgeries, that his features represent that. But it doesn't look sinister, it just looks a bit derpy. Other than that, I am pleased with these two. Loads of the detail is difficult to pick out on these models, and I think I managed to get away with it!

I wanted to do my own freehand stuff, but the truth is that the detail just didn't come out very well with the sculpted stuff. So I just made the decision to do my own. Im sure the detail is fine on other models, but on mine it was hardly there.

It seems really cast dependent which is a shame as all the small script must have taken a lot of time to sculpt. And don't worry, your freehand was good enough that I forgot there was even script on the parchment; I had literally thought I had forgotten to do squigglies and freehand!
