Because when Horus sought to kill the Emperor and seize the throne, Khârn chose to join his Primarch and the Arch-Traitor in heresy and treason! If Khârn was worthy of Sigismund's friendship, he would've kept faith in the Emperor by joining the loyalists- which would require breaking his oaths of loyalty towards Angron, but the Emperor would've pardoned him for that, as you can't betray a traitor. He could've fallen upon his sword- maybe commit a suicide bombing, so his body wouldn't be used as a Daemonhost- instead of betraying his friend Sigismund, his master's master the Emperor, the Imperium and all mankind. But give how their time with the World Eatters shaped the culture and traditions of the Templars, they are closer to that Legion as they were before the Heresy than the Imperial Fists in nearly everything. Sigismund and the Original Templar Brethren spent a ton of time with Khârn and the World Eatters and picked up such nice habits as chaining their weapons to themselves from them! that discussion should be made in another room. btw... The Templar brethren never spent their time with the World eaters,.... just Sigismund himself. Just high commanders did participate in this event. The Blood God cannot even look half as AWESOME as you when you sit in the skull stool you set at the skull throne's foot, so you may ever be ready to shield the Emperor from harm- to say nothing of how PATHETIC Khorne looks when compared to the Emperor Himself. Bjorn Firewalker Posted January 4, 2021 Share Posted January 4, 2021 When the Chaplain encourages you to use "Daemon weapons", confident the Chaos Gods will not corrupt you via their use, after seeing you dismember and decapitate a Daemon Prince with your bare hands- the foul traitor broke your sword, and must recompense you with its body, or rather, parts of it- throw the Daemon Prince's disembodied head to crack open the skull of the sorcerer who serves as its warband's second-in-command, and then wield the Daemon Prince's disembodied arms and legs to kill every Chaos Space Marine and Chaos cultist in the warband .
