Look at the bright side... Keep your eyes peeled in newspapers, online and any stores that sell second hand 40k... It is possible they will try and sell it... You may be able to get some of it back! I don't suppose you have any insurance that will cover it?

So using the opportunity of the dark Angels challenge i will redo my Skullraider, my Khornfilers and add in a Stormeagle!

basically its a Stormraven kit with a valkyrie kit.

 

Still need to chaosify it and add the weapons.

 

Maybe i will use a skull like on my Skullhawk kitbash.

So was bored as hell at work, and i had my heldrake kit with me in the car...

 

So yeah i began assembling it...at work, oh don't worry about the boss,...its me!!!

 

SO this is the way i want to assemble the wings, so that the drake can have his claws free of the responsability of steering and can be used to attack.

Screwed the thing in place on the shoulder pads, looks pretty good actually.

Also placed a Rear thruster from a DE raider to fill the gap and make it look like a bit more of an actual Flyer thruster...

The cool thing with the screws is that you can change the position of the wings the way you fancy!

I wouldn't fiddle to much with it, since the GW plastic is really soft and this easily rippable when you move the wings to much.

 

I like the conversion but I don't think it will have a high lifespan for some reason.

No probleme, the screws are not screwed thight, its enough so that the wings don't move on their own, but enough loss so that i can move them without effort.

So yeah i modeled it to be modulare, so i've i want to use it as a Dakka Forgefiend, i put the two hades cannons on the flanks, if not i replace them with the magmacutters or mecaflagellums.

 

Used an Imperial statue for the base, i feeled like with his up-open hand, he needed to grab something, or to put it onto something, been a while that i wanted to use an Imperial statue like this.

 

Still not sure about the head though, its a mock up, so nothign definitif, but i'm gonna try other stuffs maybe.

I like the small conversion! I might even use this one for myself to.

Personally I think that if you'r going to use the base like this some claw scratches would do wonders.

I like the way you have done the head....what parts did you use on it? I'd like to do something similar on mine. I also like the base but something on it is off. Maybe it's that the Statue is still intact and not broken and damaged. Can't wait to see them finished and painted :lol:

Thanks guys, for the mauler i used the normal mauler head and a Thundertusk skull from the OK from battle.

But i changed it with the Zombie dragon head.

The first Dreadclaw out of two i ordered from a buddy at the club, who makes his own molds, 2 Dreadclaws for 80euro.

 

Also did some papercraft explosions markers and smoke launchersn and craters for blasted vehicles.

Nah i'm not good enough to sculpt something this detailed, its just a push-mold of GS into a mold of the old Khorne Icone that FW did a few years back.

 

Lucky me i am one of the last people who bought one of those icons, before they stopped doing them.

But when FW did the icons in the 90's, i bet that the guy who sculpted it was an Iron maiden fan, and so thats why we see Eddy's face on the icon.

 

because it is waaaay to similar to just be a coincidance.

So i used other molds i had for my bases and a khorne icon, and sculpted the ribs of the vertebrale spine and his "lips" shall we say.
