Hello all!

Its been a while since i last painted anything (i have the army service to thank for that) but now that i'm almost done i thought i should make a new log to compile all my Pre Heresy efforts.Its going to include progress of my Blood Angels, Emperor's Children and some Space Wolves and Night Lords in between.

High Sanguinary Priest Mercato, Blood Angels Legion.






A Death Company loonie having a merry time (Its a bad idea to say nasty things about the Imperium when these fellas are around...) and some Assault Marine WIPS,they will eventually get wings on their jump packs.




And finally the test model for my Great Crusade era Night Lords.

Wow! Loving that Crusade Era Night Lords brother. I really like the darker scheme on the armour and the subtle lightning effects. Also that crazy Death Company marine pummeling the guardsman with his helmet is awesome as well. Count me as subscribed, can't wait to see more.

first and foremost a recipe for that white is needed, its all sorts of nice.

the night lord is looking very cool although i think he could do with having the top part of his head the dark blue rather than white, but thats just me.

Excellent painting and modeling all around. The white (actually looks more like very light gray with white highlights, which works) is superb, and the dark blue 'midnight clad' is also a work of precision.

Just one thing...was there such a thing as pre-heresy Death Company?

Land Speeder Fury, Blood Angels Legion. The Marines wear blue helmets because i thought (contrary to established fluff) that since the Tornados are crewed by Assault Marines, the heavily armed Typhoons should be crewed by Devastators.All Blood Angels like to fight in the air after all.

Right,Night Lord recipe:

-Mordian Blue over black undercoat.
-2 Heavy washes of Badab Black.
-Watered down Mordian Blue highlights, 2 parts water - 1 part MB.
-1 part Mordian Blue-1 part White edge highlights.
-1 part Mordian Blue-2 parts White fine highlights.

Corbulo recipe:

-Adeptus Battlegrey over black undercoat.
-Astronomican grey,leaving the recesses with the darker colour.
-1 part Astronomican grey-1 part White over the previous layer.
-Pure White highlights.

Both are very quick and easy.The white i use is Vallejo white but any white will work the same.

Firepower, i use the DC with my 40k BAs. Since these guys are Scouring era, i like to think that some marines would already have started falling to the Black Rage and will use these models on a 25mm base as objectives.

everything is top notch. crisp clean paint! wonderfully painted. what are the hersey pattern helmets from that look like those from the HH art book. in refrence you paint one grey on ablood angel with the power sword and one is solid red in Combat Squad under Brother Scipio?

These termies are a gosh darned nice end result. You sir have a sharp eye for diverse bits and appear to be a dab hand at putting them together in a way that says PRE-HERESY BLOOD ANGELS. This is very well done - these guys are only about 20% blood angel bits, if that.

Your photography is quite good, but lighting could be better.

Wow DaemonPrinceDargor impressive preheresy goodness, the painting is really good, and the custodes conversions are fantastic.
BTW the custodes are: DA legs, BA thunderhammer arms, BT and BA chest, but the head from what High Elf kit?
Its cool to see how well the 2nd edition bolters fits. Great job men

Your painting skills are great, but modeling wise there's nothing screaming "Pre-Heresy" to me. Aquilas on bolters and the Land Speeder, death masks, and Death Company are all post-Heresy things. I'm also not sure about the Grey Knights Terminator legs, the mention of Titan in particular.

The models are well done and the painting is, again, great. I just don't see the Pre-Heresy part.
