Thanks very much all for the commets.

@tvih, the double skull 'banner top?' makes a hefty club o' death, that and I had nothing else I could find that was suitably awesome.

@Glaeken Templaris, screaming head I can do, if you want me to swap the helmet for a bare head let me know. I ment more of his stance, I tried to get him bending over so far so to show him really pouring hate into your face feel.

@Firepower, indeed you werent. Tried to get to it within the painting challange but ran out of spare time, and time. However do not dismay for ye will be painted a grand job commeth the end of this project modeling wise. mmmkay.

knee wise, I just went ahead and chopped them right off....well At first I had the cut and filed into a similar shape of m2c's model. But wanted to get a few more skulls on him and bodged one of the knees, so chopped the knees off and stuck a skull on one and the IG shoulder plate on the other.

@Olisredan, anything barring chaplins. I love making them but have more than I will ever be able to use. Unless if we get a new codex and you can have aspiring chaplins within crusader squads. Now that would be pretty cool.

@Castellan Alaric, glad you like and youre welcome. Thus it be known that I had to rummage through most of my bits mountains to find the legs, I knew I had them...but where....

@ Brother Taio, indeed you did, and was fun to do. If you know my stuff then I'm all about the crashing fowards weapons slashing and hacking. SO a more at ease stance was good. Though I'm in the midst of a terminator hammer squad(Templar knights of antioch, monty python style of course, been done I know, but why the hell not), of which I hope to apply some sort of relaxed poses.

@Th!rdeye, I can send it to you, but I'll have to charge, my modeling skills brings all the templars to the yard. lol. (at work and that song by kelis? was just on) in case that came across a little wired, but we like that here. :P

I quite fancy toting around an assault cannon, if that's alright. If you need more details, send me a PM. :P

Yeah, whatever it is. It was marked as a shrine in eBay, I've no idea what it really is. Hehe. But it seems like it is meant to be placed on top of a power pack, like a Halo is. Who knows. But as I had no appropriate Eagle icons or anything to use as a Crozius head, I figured it would do instead :P I suppose the "main problem" using it as a Crozius head is that it kinda limits the option of using it with power packs now ;) Unless one considers the weapon head a replica of the "real shrine"!

@tvih, "real shrine" theory sounds good.

@Oilsredan, yah, will need some more. PM sent.

I'm guesing a terminator, ...tabard front(which one)? if one, details, gubbins etc..more in the Pm but yeah, as personal as I can manage, as after all its a repsentation of you in my army.

Oh, I also have brother richard done but forgot about posting him as he was in my last battle and currently on the gaming shelf.

Update,

Brother Fauxfox:

Ok, so this is kinda a good thing with this model as was already planning a crusader squad armed with just whats here, eviscerator, bolt pistol. Running them as such in fun games. Pics arent the best but Fauxfox wanted a shielded left arm. Thinking of how they would fight and the pose and weilding a 2 handed weapon I decided to reinenforce the armpour thats already there. It turned out almost like ye old strap on armour. so added a strap which will be more obvious once painted and some hinges. Cut a little cross "wing"? which starts at the cuff. This is deffinitley something that will come across to the full squad. So expect to see a full 10 man squad.

Brother richard: As per a pic of his crusader he wanted to send me. Although with one mod, the attached assualt blade. Hope you dont mind but most of my bolters guys will have them. He was more focused on the painting of the crusader.

Awesome work as always Master Eberious (yes, "Master", coz you should be a Master Artisan (higher than Master of the Forge) of the Black Templars!)

I like what you did with Brother Fauxfox, awesome post and he seems about to hack some traitors in half! Looking forward to the rest of this for inspiration!

Thanks 1000heathens, yours probably wont be far off. Although in two minds at the moment to what the sword will be chain or power. Whats your choice?, I know you said it was mine but this is your model in my army.

@Marshal_Roujakis. thanks very much. Master of the forge if good. , makes me happy others take inspiration from this, much appreciated.

Chainsword it is, got a good amount of chaos ones so it'll be doubled sided. And whats the Iron cage? not sure I follow you there so please detail so I can try and capture it.

thanks

In the history of the Imperial Fists, there was one battle that ensured the true purity and zealousness of the Legion, it was the fight against the hated Iron Warriors at their Fortress trap, the Iron Cage.

After the Horus Heresy, Rogal Dorn, Primarch of the VII Legion the Imperial Fists, was mourning the loss of his father and was depressed upon his failure to protect the Emperor against Horus' betrayal (he wore Black Armour during this time.).

Seeing no other method to punish himself, he devised a new contraption to punish himself in his failure, the pin glove. Meanwhile, the Iron Warriors conquered a world and erected a vile fortress of cris-crossing trenches and redoubts of unimaginable firepower, all they're efforts, just to affront Dorn and his defence on Terra. Perturabo, Primarch of the hated Iron Warriors, openly declared a challenge against hos once former brother Rogal Dorn, declaring his defences weak against the armoured might of the Iron Warriors, and telling him that to prove himself the better siege specialist, he must conquer his Iron Cage.

Dorn perceived this to be a trap, but to cleanse his entire Legion against his own failure, he decides that the only way is to purge it using blood, fire and zeal. He accepted the challenge, and with the might of his entire Legion, they laid siege to the

Iron Cage, fighting every trap, destroying every fortress, casting down every traitorous foe with their might, at the head of every assault, stood the the Imperial Fists primarch, flanked by his mightiest champions of his Legion.

Perturabo thought that the Imperial Fists would break easily, but every obstacle that he threw at the Imperial Fists, they broke through like the very hammer of the Emperor. But alas, after 3 weeks of fighting, the Imperial Fists were now all but surrounded, their Primarch was still standing defiant at their head, casting down every Champion of the Ruinous Power that Perturabo could throw at him, but 1 last Fortress stood on that vile world, one that with the lack of munitions, Dorn could not topple down. The Imerial Fists and the Iron Warriors were on a Stalemate, either one backing down, but both could not progress any further.

And that's when the Ultramarines came.

Uncalled for, but needed, Guilliman's newly reformed Chapter the Ultramarines, so as 5 of its second founding Chapters, descended upon the Iron Cage, destroying every enemy forces they could find. Finally, with the aid of the Ultramarines, the last Bastion of Chaos was detroyed, but Perturabo escaped back into Medrengard, where upto now he still gnaws at his bitter resentment against the Imperium, and its Champions.

After the Iron Cage, Dorn was now "reborn", his fight in the cage purified his failure, and now he accepted the change that must be made, he reformed his Legion and divided it into Chapters. The most loyal remaining with him in the Imperial Fists, the newly accepted Marines after the Iron Cage was formed into the Crimson Fists, the most blood thirsty became the Soul Drinkers, and finally to those who stood as Champions against the enemies relentless assault in the Iron Cage, and to those who fought as his Vanguard during that siege, he gave to Sigismund to lead, and thus formed the Black Templars.

sorry for the long post, but a history lesson must be taught. :)

The Soul Drinkers, as per their final book, carry no genetic markers of Dorn. Not only are they not 2nd Founding, they no longer even know who their father was.

2nd Founding of the VII Legion:

Imperial Fists: The most devouted of the original Legion continued wearing the Gold.

Crimson Fists: The youngest and most level headed of the old Legion

Black Templars: The most zealous, of course

Excoriators: The most stubborn

I haven't read the last one yet! That's why I'm not certain of the Flesh Tearers... still though, Heretics!!! And now without traces of the Honoured Father, more reason to burn these heretical scum. LOL

Anyway back to Master Eberious and his super awesome Forum Templaris.

Just googled that iron cage fight, looks like I have to read more 40k lore/fluff. Purely out of how awesome some stories are and this one sounds.

It's by far the greatest story in 40k; in short, the Imperial Fist Legion walked into hell, and walked out as four seperate Chapters. That means, at best, 4000 marines survived. OUt of an entire Legion. Let that soak in for a minute.

Anywho, looking forward to whatever you got next, bro!
