Black Swans

Founded: 6th
Gene-seed: Ultramarine
Organisation: Codex
Combat Doctrine: Believe in the elegance of warfare, so enjoy doing heroic feats, fancy kills etc.
Major Conflicts:
Gained major fame in the Kuis Campaigns alongside Saint Petrok.
Defence against the Rigrot Waaagh!
The Retribution Crusade against the Rigrot Clan that would eventually lead to the destruction of the chapter.
This is all the "known" information about this chapter. We will be writing a Forgeworld style IA, so it can be much shorter and focus on the three Major Conflicts from their perspective. The Gene-Seed and Organisation are set, we could argue day and night about these details and we don't need to. The Doctrine was something I've added to start of a little bit about their character and this could be taken in many directions.

Von Rothbart and Von Schwarzfels, however, should probably make an appearance.

I think some kind of IA wouldn't be a bad thing, but I don't know that it needs to be that involved.

I was throwing together a preliminary star map for the Kuis Stretch that includes a possible homeworld for the Black Swans on a Death World called Anserine in the Coscoroba System that sits just a bit outside of the Kuis Stretch itself, but is readily close enough to assist. Let me know if that is even remotely applicable.
Problem with Coscoroba System. Kuis Campaign takes place in Ultima, Black Swans are in Tempestus and from the looks they are planning on using Coscoroba System as a jumping off point for Kuis Campaign in their section.
I am needing a map for Section 2b, which is the direct defense of the Black Swans' homeworld .... got any laying around?

Missed where the Black Swans were out of Tempestus and not Ultima since everyone was introducing them in Parrt 1. I could definitely throw one together for the defense of their homeworld and maybe Coscoroba is an established protectorate of the Swans from an earlier campaign? If not, we'll make the Coscoroba system home to a dead Chapter or whatnot. Any ideas on what you'd like for the Swans?
Okay according to the guidelines we've been given:
Chapter 2-b: The Rigrot Waagh!
Location: Tempestus
An Orkwarlord, Rigrot, leads his clan, the Def Meks, across the numerous star systems, most notably the Kalil System were the Fortress-Monastery of the Black Swans Space Marine chapter. Unable to defend against the Orks, the Swans are forced to retreat to the fortress and call upon the assistance of ancient allies. The Orks are finally routed from the systems, but not before the Swans fortress is pillaged, taking the Banner of Petrok as their prize.
Since the Black Swans operate in both Tempestus and Ultima apparantly, I see them as being close to the border of the two. So I think the map should be in the hightlighted area below. It should include several systems including the Kalil System of the Black Swans.

It's a little congested, but it could go between Rynn's World and Jurn on the Orion Arm. That puts them at threat from the Orks or Charadon, perhaps before the emergence of the Arch Arsonist. I could throw something for that together, so long as those running that portion of the campaign are cool with it.

It's pretty open space, and gives us a lot to have to fight over. Plus it's close enough to Ultima for the BSs to send troops to Kuis for Section 1 Campaign.

EDIT: That, or we could zoom in further - that's still a pretty big area, after all.

That area seems a little crowded with things of import (the Crimson Fists and Bakka): what's it like a little further north?

Further north it gets even more crowded ... suggestions? Zooming in may be better.

My intent was between the 4,200 light year stretch of space of Jern and Rynn's World, which would give plenty of space from the Fists, but still close enough to be significant as a border Chapter that supports stuff in both segmentae. On my galactic map, it's around where the word "Segementum" is in "Segmentum Tempestus."
The problem is that the map that has all the Liber Astartes Chapters on it (I don't have the link) has Jurn, Rynn's World and Bakka in different locations.

The point I'd recommend would be at the intersection of a horizontal line from Pranagar and a vertical line from Moilor (or whatever the Warriors Eternal call their home world). Keeps us away from the Crimson Fists. Then we zoom in, hard.
Dear god, the community needs a good, consistent galaxy map. Add another project to my list, I guess.

Liber Astartes Map
EDIT:
My suggestion for the sector containing Kalil System.

I can name/fill the systems however members desire.

The various 40K maps are virtually irreconcilable with each other. I mean, go for it, but you may not succeed.
The point I'd recommend would be at the intersection of a horizontal line from Pranagar and a vertical line from Moilor (or whatever the Warriors Eternal call their home world).
That's actually the exact spot I was referring to on my map, haha! I think that puts us close enough that the Black Swans would reasonably venture into another segmentum on a regular basis. Kalil itse'f doesn't have to be the cluster that I noted and the space that we are looking at on the Kuis Stretch can be as big or small as we need it to be. I'll pull Kalil farther away from the border between the segmentae, but still on the Kuis Stretch map. It's not much farther away, but some of the stars quasi lined up so I tried to take advantage of that.

Exetus, the new map I'm using did not get cut off your map. Its not on any larger map that I know of. Its going to be used to denoted an area much deeper in Tempestus.
