Man, that's looking damn good. I'm personally a fan of that Calgar head - either that or the MkVII hat would look great.

Thanks a lot mate! Glad you like how he is looking. I might try a few more bare heads before I make a decision :tu:

Howling Gs .  MK VII helm W/Laurels ROCKS.

Still doing my research on the Howling Griffons. Their Night World scheme looks pretty nice.

Thanks for looking ;)

I've made a start on the Marine. I was going back through my colour schemes because I just couldn't decide which Chapter to choose and I saw my 30k Thousand Sons colour scheme. I just knew that I had to try a Blood Angel using the metallic red technique.

So, early days but it's starting to take shape. I'm trying to decide whether to paint the helmet red like a tactical marine or gold like a Company Veteran...

Thanks for looking ;)

I managed to get some more work done on the Blood Angel.

There is still a bit of work to do, but he is nearly there. I'm trying to decide whether or not to give him a golden Veteran's helmet. He is a Deathwatch Veteran after all. What do you think?

I hope you like how he turned out :)

WOW!!!

Glad you like it!

Awesome! Usually not a fan of the metallic paint jobs but this is really cool and well done!

Thanks mate! Glad you like how it's looking.

Looks good as is, mate.

Thanks for the feedback!

Looks outstanding mate. The mkVII helmet was a good choice. I really like it in the red superb

Glad you like the helmet and the red!

I don't think that he needs a golden helmet, as his laurels, shoulder pad, and the knee pad (?) already accentuate his veteran status.

Yeah, I decided to stay with the red helmet. Also, the knee pad is a squad marking, not veterancy.

Shows how much I know about Loyalists. :whistling:

Very nice job.

Nah, it's not that common to see. It's a non Codex marking system, so unless you own a Blood Angels' codex you might not have seen it before. Plus a lot (most?) Blood Angel players don't bother painting the knee pad squad markings on their marines :tu:

How did you achieve that metallic red? Is it Metal base with colour washes or something different?

Looking good. :smile.:

Thanks bro! The metallic red is a spray paint from Tamiya. I used the same technique when painting my 30k Thousand Sons test mini. The only thing I did differently was to give the red armour an edge highlight using Stormhost Silver :tu:

So, no progress to report, but I have been making some plans for my next mini project; some characters from A D-B's awesome 'Black Legion' series. I've posted a topic in the 'Chaos Space Marine' forum and received some excellent feedback and ideas. Since then I've gone ahead and ordered to bits that I'll need to build Iskandar Khayon. Lheorvine Ukris should be fairly straightforward and I should be able to build him using pieces from my bits box. Telemachon is a bit more challenging. I've had a couple of ideas, but none that I'm satisfied with just yet.

The one character that nobody had a suggestion for was Nefertari. Khayon's bloodward is one of my favourite characters (lets be honest, I like all of the characters, but some more than others) in The Talon of Horus so I'm pretty keen to do her justice. At this stage I'm planing to use a female Scourge mini with the feathered wings and a Dark Elves Whitch Elf head (mostly for the long, flowing hair). An Incubi klaive would be great, but I might have to go with something else because I probably won't be able to get my hands on a single klaive.

Anyway, I was looking back through my uncompleted models and came across this Lelith Hesperax and Archaon conversion from back in the day. I started painting these minis back when they first came out (Lelith is metal, not finecast), but never got around to finishing them. I've been considering starting on some more Dark Eldar, and thought you might like to see these examples from a few years ago :)

So if anyone has any ideas for how to build either Nefertari or Telemachon I'd love to hear your ideas :tu:

Thanks for looking ;)

Ohhhhhhhhh snaaaaaaaap! Characters from Talon of Horus! Definitely excited to see your take on Firefists and his best sorcerer friend. Definitely want to see what you do for Telemachon. I see his artwork and scratch my head sometimes.

As for the bloodward I think some sweet, customized scourge armor would do the work.

I like that the Archon is holding his helmet. I haven't seen that done before.

Thanks! Glad you like the Archaon :)

Yeah, I'm pretty keen. I'm still waiting for the bits to be delivered. Thanks for the suggestions :tu:

The bits for Khayon arrived yesterday. So far I've only stuck him together with blu tack, so I'll probably change his pose up a bit before I settle on a look.

Let me know what you think :)

Stormcast head for Telemachon, look up the Slaanesh sigmar sets for the body (?), forge world shoulderpads and other decorations, and use warp talon feet?

Yeah, I'm not sure which Stormcast head would be best. I'll have to have a look.

Thanks for looking ;)

Really liking everything you have here. DE are one of my favourite armies, really like your colour scheme. Khayon is looking great, I don't think you need to do anything to the pose, is spot on as it is.
